Wiremod restrictions for players on my DarkRP server/question about prometheus
What restrictions should i put for wiremod? Im not really familiar with it but i know people can do some cool and fun things with it. Just want to remove any chances of people doing things to crash the server or do anything else harmful. Any tips? I can show a list of all the wire restrictions in my SAM admin mod menu if needed :D
I also had another question and i didnt want to make 2 threads since you cant delete them and i have a bunch up already lol. But is "Prometheus" the donation system mod something that is realllly hard to setup and install? Looking at the page it seems a little difficult and looks like it requires a lot to do it? I have a server host, with MySql databases and have mysql enable for darkrp and some addons but i dont really know what to do with it or whatever. Just so lost now lol and it would be amazing for some help
Wire Restrictions: Explosives / Explosives (Simple), Teleporter, Prop Spawner, Holo Emitter (or set max to a low amount), Sound Emitter (or set max to a low amount) Igniter. E2 if you wish.
Prometheus is quite easy to setup, once installed and configured to your liking, simply go to Admin > Servers > Create a server. Then you can create packages for that server. Remember the Server ID it gives you for your Lua file. ;)
Thank youu gonna use those wire restrictions forsure! And as for prometheus i found out i need a web host and i know nothhhing about that aswell so im almost determined to give up on the donation system D: sadly
Actually had a question while setting them up. I noticed last min that you put "E2 if you wish" but is E2 harmful or is more of a fun thing people like to use? sorry for questions haha
E2 is wonderful, can be used for amazing things and can do so much, especially with third party extensions. However, it is very fucky aswell and can be a griefers wet dream. A restricted version of E2 is recommended by limiting what functions can be used by certain groups/people. This isn't a standard Wiremod thing and will require you to do it yourself. There are 2 ways, a long way that will take the piss, and a quick way that will mean editing the core of the tool. I'm more than happy to provide you with a way to do this if you wanna give us a message i'll show you how.
Oh yeah im sure someone can do some bad griefing with it hahaha. Also i just went in game to my SAM menu and set all the restrictions you listed before for "user" so hopefully that works? If not then ill forsure shoot you a message haha, I appreciate this help again btw :D
Basically i just went into SAM menu and set all those wire restrictions you posted before regular users (since i dont rly have vip setup yet) but for the expression2 restriction i was more wondering if i take that off will it prevent more fun or more grief you think?
Ahh as im typing this i realize what you are saying, so i can set restrictions for E2 aswell? and not just wire? thats nice id like to learn that hahaha
