Problematic Workshop Bundling

Hello all,

I am just seeking more information as to whether you are allowed to pack together addon assests (Materials, Models, Resources) into a content pack via the steam workshop. Which is allowed via the Garrysmod Wiki Workshop Rules. I see Hundreds of content packs released and all contain at least one item from the gmodstore. This legal section of purchasing scripts in very veigue and I am concerened that this could become problematic. My main clear question is if I download multiple purchased scripts can I bundle the assests into a content pack so instead of downloading hundredes of single files and waiting for them to extract is it LEGAL for me to bundle them.

If that is the case, When you download the files from the server it becomes public anyway?

Kind Regards, Whipppy.

Officially, no. But no one's gonna stop you. Almost all devs on here upload their content to the workshop anyways, I doubt they're gonna care if you reupload it.

I believe it's perfectly acceptable, as long as you do NOT upload the Lua. When people join your server they already end up downloading the models/materials/sounds, so they can access those files if they really want to.

Content Creators SHOULD always upload a workshop file with the assets, however, to make it easier for the person who purchased the script.

@buu342, Yeah most Content Creators do so, but the only problem if you add each one to the collection, you would be adding lets say 35 addons extra all being 0.1mb - 5mb as most are pretty small and it takes longer for the addon to be extracted before it finishes the downloading/extracting process.

Your other solution is to have one addon with all of the content from all of your script submissions inside. Obviously, if someone only purchases one of those scripts, they're essentially downloading a lot of files they don't use.

There's no one way to please everyone.

No i mean, lets say i have 30 scripts on my server purchased here, and instead of adding all 30 to the workshop individually compress them into 1 to make download/extracting tiems quicker.
