Dedicated Hosting Question

This is actually great suggestion. I remember Penguin from Superior Servers telling me he couldn't notice a difference from the E3 v3 to the 4790k. That's a larger relative increase in clock speed than the 4790k when compared to the 7700k. I think it's mostly placebo effect
Confused by this response, i7 4790k is better or worse then an E3 v3? and would it be good enough for what i'm looking for?
Thanks for all the responses guys :P
Essentially he is saying that on paper the 4790k is better but he thinks it's by a negligible amount. There are several E3 CPU's with good single core / threaded performance.
You can go with one of the better E3's or the 4790k, it's not a big deal. Having a 100 slot DarkRP server is about your code and how optimized it is as opposed to any hardware upgrade when you're talking about these CPU's.
Giving is a number of addons isn't useful, it really depends on what they're doing. Just go for your server, it's unlikely you're going to get 100 players immediately, when you have issues however just keep in mind your hardware is not the issue.
Good luck.

The same people who tried to tell me GMod servers were multicore because of clientside multi core rendering :/
Yeah. I remember it took them 3 days to check what I was claiming was true - in which time my dedi was under attack & virtually un-usable. With all that said you pay for what you get. I also remember them assigning IP's already in use, and taking upward of 2 weeks to deploy a machine, and then refusing to refund.
OVH are cheaper and provide more than Zare do. They also have better networking than Zare - utilising their dark fibre network & providing more effective DDoS mitigation that can handle higher capacities and more types of attacks on more types of applications.
Zare are good if they can give you a good deal that saves you money - but they couldn't do that when I last asked. Even though they claimed they could.

Although I cannot personally comment on the issues you faced, I can say that lots of things have changed over the last few years. I believe we have completely changed our protection system since you were last with us, which has helped to cut down any downtime from attacks considerably.
In regards to the multicore GMOD comment, i'm not quite sure who told you that but I apologize if it caused any issues.
