Best Admin Mod Currently?

#41

for $200 (or a little more) couldn't you just pay someone to re-work and optimize ULX? Idk $200 just seems absurd for chat commands to me...

okay, yes... I agree with this. But still, the product should at least be halfway worth the money...

That's up to you, does it worth paying someone 200 bucks to still get only a better ULX ?

It's a pretty basic admin mod (Having used it on a few servers). The last server I used it on had a menu made for it. It is custom and exclusive. That is why people want it. It doesn't do anything you can't already do with ULX (that I know of). It's a good system if you want a simplistic admin mod that separates you from the rest. The logs that AStonedPenquin sells is worth the purchase for sure.

I think ULX is best simply because everyone knows how to use it. It is flushed out and easy to implement new modules. Plus there is alot of literature on it if you want to learn to customize it.

The reason D3A is $200, is because you're paying for the performance. Personally, I think D3A and aowl are the best admin mods out, however, they do require the most user additions to make them as feature filled as ULX.

What’s so special about his logs that blogs doesn’t already have? I literally notice 0 performance different with and without blogs and it has support for pretty much anything. At that point you’re just wasting money.

D3A is cool, although for the money I would not buy this. ULX/Serverguard does everything for a much cheaper price, and even if you like D3A, there is a very slight chance that you can get it. The owner of it does not like giving it to anyone.

Whether or not it's worth the money is completely dependent on how badly you need to optimize your servers. It was made specifically for a community that utilized MySQL to link player information and bans between servers/gamemodes. If you don't have multiple servers, I'd recommend using a different admin mod, unless you plan to launch more servers in the future. (the less data you have to port, the easier the switch will be)

If penguin isn't adding you to purchase D3A, you most likely haven't established your community well enough. In which case you should work on your community's image with a separate admin mod before you consider D3A. You shouldn't need it at that point anyway.
