I need help with Lagg

Try reducing the tick rate in command line. (Use the command line manager and make sure you have tick rate enabler installed). If that doesn't work, you probably have some awfully made addon causing lag.

Does the server lag for other people or just you? If it's frame lag (low FPS) try changing the map or try joining on a more powerful computer.

I'm hosted with serenity servers and generally they have good performance. They have a support page which you've probably seen but it's helped me out when my server was lagging. I reduced the tickrate and it worked fine. If you have a lot of persisted or permanent props this is also a factor to consider.

I've already tried the tick rate, but ill try it out again. Lagg spikes for everyone, sometimes small sometimes so grose.

Yeah i saw it already, ill try to remove few perma textscreens.

What addon(s) are you using on your server? & have you tried it without any addons + running sandbox?

The host is the issue; Serenity Servers is known for being horrible with excessively high pings and poor performance.

If you are using Serenity, they aren't very good for big servers and are more aimed at the small communities. They try to squeeze about 3-4 servers per core and it just doesn't work. I personally don't like companies that put more than one server on a core as a server can easily go to 100% in no time. I use NodeBlast which uses E3-1231 V3 or i7 4790k CPUs. They have to be some of the best CPUs for Garry's Mod's single performance. They also have this small disclosure which I like.

Each customer gets a Dedicated HT CPU Core, this means no restrictions on CPU Usage for your server. This allows you to host very CPU Intensive Gamemodes such as DarkRP on Garry's Mod.

NFO also do have good hardware, but are a very expensive company due to the branding and 24/7 support which isn't all that great.

So as mentioned above, it may not be your server which is the problem, it could be your host limiting you on resources. I would confront them about this and see what deal you can squeeze with them, or look for another place to host.

Thanks everyone for giving me some kind of advice, i appreciate it. Before SE i hosted the server on NFO, but i've left becasue they are pretty much expensvie, and the webhosting on SE is free.

Webhosting on NFO is also free with certain packages, honestly NFO is superior in almost every way lol

I wouldn't say they are superior, they just have a big name and they have been around for a long time. Their prices are through the roof also.

Pingley, if you're concerned about free webhosting, NB (NodeBlast) gives web hosting for free with any gameserver which has unlimited usage except for a max storage space of 250MB (why would you need more? (Also, FastDL is on a different web server))

Interesting, ill have to look them out then, but sadly we are off budget right now, and we cant afford moving again, so hopefully we will survive this month somehow. Ill be glad if i could get someone with much more experience to help me and to check out the problem with his own eyes. As i said, i tried jobs, but i only got some people with ''drag n drop'' experience.

Try using crident, there decent price with good hardware, there support can be awful sometimes but i've never had a problem

Their web hosting is completely free only downside is the 50 person limit AT A TIME (and if you're a developer you can't install ruby sass etc)

If I where you I'd get NFO good hardware and great hosting along with a gigabit raid protection so $5 boosters can't hit your server hard.

Actually, NFO's DDoS protection is really bad... They don't even advertise it because they know it is bad. I used to host with NFO and was getting DDoSed almost constantly with about half actually working. I would host with OVH themselves or someone who uses OVH's machines. They have legit full DDoS Protection, and they stand behind their clients DDoS wise.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I actually contacted them about "DDoS protection". They said that they are not an actual DDoS attack mitigation provider but they do have filters to put in place. The only thing they really have is pre-made filters for their routers. If the attack is big enough, it will just flood out the whole machine it's self, as filters have to use the host's machine resources.

Exactly this, I've never had problems with their DDOS protection, especially when starting out I got hammered for a week straight and I still had my server kept online.

They also do not protect against source attacks, hence why when I hosted with them for my CS:GO server, I moved to NodeBlast. I think I gave them a pretty cruddy review because of them saying they did protect them, but only at a basic level which they convinced me it would protect.

Couple years ago I managed a successful TTT and death run server with nfo and they protected against a lot of attacks. If they slipped by they filtered it cause they capture packets or whatever. For the past years we only had two bad attacks and they where filtered

The CPU frequency of VPSes are often too low to host a Garry's mod server without lag. I tried this with a 3.1 ghz VPS and lagged at about 12 players.
