Before I start: I wanna know how much it would cost if I were to ask for one to be made, how long it would roughly take, and if a low price, how possible would it be for me to do it myself?

So, for a little server / community I am making, I am trying in the way of buying new scripts to bring custom content to the server, go in-depth with settings rather than skim reading like others, etc.. One of the things I'd like to add which to me seems very simple to me is a player counter on the website. I know I could use a gametracker banner, but, one thing I am trying to keep is the professional look and as gametracker does not use SSL it means that using their banner isn't an option for me as I'd like users to be presented with a professional feel when coming to my website. (Yellow padlock instead of green) This is where a little custom one comes in, something which simply displays the map, fits the colour scheme and does not cause the SSL to go wrong (Yellow padlock instead of green).

I know it will sound pathetic, but it is a small change I'd like made to fit my aim.

I can look into offering banners with the project I'm currently working on, GmodListing.

However you can easily do this with a bit of PHP know-how.

You could display the banner through a PHP proxy script (but some hosts aren't fond of this in a shared hosting environment) or what nook said. Honestly, you're making it yourself or having someone make it, don't have it generate an image with the server info, stick with displaying it as html.

Edit: You had asked how much lol, if it's a forum plugin, maybe around $15-20 since the person has to make it specifically for that software, and if it's properly made, server info is cached, so it doesn't put a lot of load on the webserver.

To be honest if it's being done via an image, you could make a script that updates one image, and just use that path to display it.

I don't really want it to be a plugin, more some code I add to a certain are within the forums to simply display the information, is that possible?
