Free Script Section
Hey, I think there should be a free script section.
People can submit scripts in the free section and the good ones and non-rip offs will get posted. I would assume they wouldn't have to be great like the paid script section but at least decent.
Would be cool. Plus we wouldn't have shitty scripts because of the moderation on them. If staff are up for it.
Yes I know there is steam workshop but you cannot edit the files in steam workshop without extracting them and it is a hassle. Yes there is also garrysmod.org but anyone can post anything on there, hence why I suggest we make moderation on the free script section so there aren't shitty scripts. Plus if they get broken then they get taken down.
This has been debated before and the admins have said no.
Free scripts would be too hard to manage (for moderators), could lower ScriptFodder's reputation if an addon is backdoored or some shit and uses up disk space (which I'm sure there's an abundance of, but regardless) and resources.
Plus there's Workshop and garrysmods.org. And yes, Workshop extraction is annoying but it's the only way.

If there where free scripts it'd just be shitters that post their leaks of that shitty script called blogs

I am against this aswel. This has been tried before by ScriptFodder alternatives (all dead now). This does not work and there are a hell alot other places created specifically for this matter. Why mix ScriptFodder into it? I would think it would devalue ScriptFodders brand and it couldnt compete with Workshop anyway.
In the end people might even start making alternative to paid scripts and upload them for free. Which, if done on the same website, could simply deter people from buying, even if the content is better. This happened to me personally (they stole VCmod code aswel, so they are down now, but yeah).
Just use garrysmods.com, it's ran by the owner of CoderHire and works wonderfully.
