Map Optimization and Modifications

About Me.

I’m Kabus, mostly known by some for working on a map for a community called Meta Construct and for making the models for LockPeek, I have been working privately on Source Engine maps since around 2011 and I am currently making my own game.

I don’t often do commissions, mainly because the requests are usually ridiculous which is why I will only be doing what is listed below:

What I can do

Map Optimization

1. Everything I inevitably work on either requires me to optimize the map, be it from visleaf optimization, brush count reduction or map size reduction.
2. Please note that even though your map may be more optimized, it may not always reflect on your own machine or server, due to multiple other factors such as the amount of lua addons you have on your servers or hardware variances from person to person.

Map Modifications

1. I can do small edits or medium edits on things like parts of a map, major changes that would take longer than a week I will reject due to the time I have to spare for other projects.

2D Map Designs

1. I can make a Mini map for an existing map or sketch out a concept design for a map that someone wants made, contact me and we can discuss what I can do.

My services will be mainly based around more technical map work, as I do not intend to be making maps from scratch or working on major edits.

I am willing to work on a map that is decompiled or a map that’s a BSP, I am fine with compiling as long as any custom assets are provided for said map, I will not hunt down assets for multiple maps that you want slapped together unless you are willing to pay extra.

Rates and Payment

Due to the nature of the work I am providing, the pricing will likely be different or cheaper than most.

Map Optimization will be around £40-£80, This depends on the size of the map and whether the map requires large amounts of work.

Map Modifications vary in pricing, depending on the size and time required I’ll provide you with a rough estimation, but expect it to be between £20 to £100 depending on how much work is required.

Payment will be done via PayPal, 25% Upfront and 75% when the Map is finished. I will not send out the map before payment.

2D Map Designs will be around £5, as this is graphical, I will expect you to pay upfront.
