Can OVH tell I’m under 18 by my card
Hi, I want to rent a dedicated server from OVH and I was wondering if they can tell I’m under 18 by my credit card information.
i dont think so no
Edited just use paypal or something
generally, you need to be over 18 to get a credit card in most places so
nevermind
I think he's referring to a debit card, as legally you can't be in debt till you're 18 (In the UK atleast)
But to answer the question: You'll be fine, I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Maybe if you want to do it by yourself, yes, but you can get one under 18 through a parent or legal guardian.
Side note: debit cards are almost the same thing, but the age for getting one on your own and getting one through your parents varies.
in most places as i've said before, and depends on the bank, you have to be able to prove a steady flow of income to the bank and such to apply for a credit card (this applies in the US, NZ, and in the UK from what I've seen/read)
but you can get your debit card linked to a credit account that belongs to someone else as typad said
you can't get a credit card in the united states without being 18 or older, but I believe you can get a prepaid card under 18, plus on the upside your credit score don't matter w/ prepaid cards, so no worries in fucking it up.
so if ur using a prepaid card yeah go for it, they won't give a shit as long as they're getting money

ok I read more into the article and it does seem most or all prepaid card companies (like visa) require you to be 18 years old.
just ask yer mom for it and give her the money to put on it

No, you CAN get a credit card in the US if you are under 18; however, only it's an authorized user. It's not a debit card at all, I have the same card as my mom with my name on it.
Anyways, this is getting off topic. No, OVH shouldn't be able to tell your age based on your credit card information, but to be safe, use PayPal or your parent's card.
A-bit late.
Just use paypal. When I was under-aged pre-paid cards were my goto.
Most places check license now for pre-paid cards + you have to registered them online to prevent money laundering.
If you're a first time customer for OVH-US expect poor customer service so be patient, but I usually host with their sister company: http://soyoustart.com/ . Much cheaper if you're just wanting to run 1 gameserver + a webserver.
Just be aware if you use PayPal and fake your age details if you are not 18 they may shut down your PayPal account, this has happened to a couple of people here already.

Simple answer is "No they cant".
I am in the US and our bank allows me to have a debit card under my name. It’s not a prepaid card and it’s an actual bank account.

Yhe I’m only 17 and I’ve had a Visa Debit Card (not prepaid a actual bank debit card) since I was 14. Oh talking about it in the UK for me
I’m in the UK, I used to use OVH when I was 16-18 I used debit card which was just linked to my PayPal account, so I checked out via PayPal.
I didn’t even know you needed to be 18 did you read the ToS or something?
I've been using an unverified PayPal and i'm 15.... So idk whats the deal here
keep it to yourself dont go publicly announcing that you're violating their terms of service lol
OVH don't require you to be over 18 afaik, they have no reason to
