Whats your opinion?
Greetings, scripters and players. I want to know whats your opinion about SerenityServers. Im using that and i want to know what is others opinion about the host.
I've heard nothing but bad shit about them, in tickets, messages, steam messages, etc...
I wouldn't recommend them if they have such bad reputation.
Edited
I usually don't listen to a tiny crowd of people but it's a pretty big crowd
What do you recommend Luna?
Long long long ago when I first started my server I chose serinity for their cheap pricing and let me be the one to tell you that you certainly get what you pay for, maybe even less than that. The performance is truly god awful. Even when you purchase their "dedicated core" package it's still god awful. I recommend GMC hosting. I
Don't listen to serenity server's bullshit. It's truly awful in terms of performance and when you try to claim your refund within the allocated time period they haggle you about it. Even GMC hosting is a huge markup, just get your own VPS or dedicated server.

I'll give you an honest review as a long time customer.
If there would be an "Informative" rating in here this would fit it perfectly.
How much are these providers paying every single one of you? I've never seen so many "WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST" threads, with people always swooping in with "I gotchu fam ;)"

Depends on location if I'm gonna be honest:
US Locations: HostHavoc or NFO have proven to be so far pretty good to me
EU/UK Locations: Crident, GMC, or a standalone OVH
OVH is a great host don't get me wrong, but their "American" location is Canada and even when I lived in washington on Richard's server I still got 100+ ping, so obviously you're not gonna get much American players. But Crident is looking into moving into the US, mostly LA afaik, while OVH has yet to construct their DC data center.

Probably gonna get shit for this but it's not all wrong: I'd avoid these hosts: SerenityServers - Bad rep NitrousNetworks - Bad rep/bad performance(personal experience) XenonServers - Terrible performance, expensive as fuck for terrible performance ELHost - Bad rep Then I'd avoid any "fresh new cool hip" such as ELHost or Runaway hosting, those are usually just re-sold servers from OVH without any actual spices put onto them, Crident and GMC does resell from OVH (but almost everyone re-sells from somewhere, such as NFO using internap) but they spice their servers up with their limited programs so it's worth it.
I'm not exactly any smartass on this but I'd recommend Serenity if you are thinking about running a low-populated server. By personal experience, I had lag spikes and crashes with 50+, 60 slots was just a no.
However, Serenity is cheap and their support is quite good, always getting helpful and informative replies within 12 hours. Also, Serenity does actually have a great reputation, for example on TrustPilot their rep is about 9,4.
Nitrious worked quite good for me when I had 50 players, a few lagspikes etc but nothing serious or often.

Support costs money too you know. You get someone who knows about Garry's Mod with GMC. Pretty sure Superior and Icefuse use GMC too if that's something that will make you feel confident in their service.
If you don't care for support and other Garry's Mod specific features like their query caching then perhaps skip out on GMC.
Ovh is the move my man.
Why do people keep making shit threads that have nothing to do with gmodstore?

Its not like its hurting anybody. And the more traffic this website gets the better for everyone here.
I had a horrible issue with Serenity where FPP settings were resetting on every server auto restart. Can you imagine the annoyance and problems this caused? Well I can, after wasting my time with endless tickets I just switched host and problem was solved. Im guessing the issue was something to do with their mysql setup - very weird.

I used serenity for maybe a month as I knew someone who was paying but didn't use it. I never had this problem but I know what caused it. The permissions were not set correctly for the sv.db. It probably wasn't writable.
