message to new or potential DarkRP server owners

before someone burns me at the steak for saying shit against some practices that are common through DarkRP servers around the world, remember this is my (and many others) opinions. i disagree with but won't hate people for doing these things.

anyway

first thing that i have got to say is that darkrp server owners need to actually listen to people who play their server/servers, they are what make a server good. the community. if the community feels like it isn't getting listened to then they are more likely to not want to listen to the server officials (staff and other management roles) they also are way more likely to leave the server and not come back. also don't let your friends get away with shit that others would get banned or warned for. this ties in with listen to your community.

next thing is DON'T BE A CARBON COPY OF ANOTHER SERVER, i know its easier to try and capitalise off another success but please, the amount of servers that are the same as the next is stupid and insanely annoying. i know it gets players but its a cheap trick and is lowering the overall quality of DarkRP (and the game as a whole). originality is the main thing im stressing here, its another main thing that makes a server what it is. of course i agree you can use some stuff that other servers do. main examples are stuff like ARitz's atm addon and Awarn, both are great tools and addons for any server. however what i am against is people who use the same free workshop addons as all the other servers of the type. stuff like M9K (i like m9k but its overused and lacks some features i like like attachments), downtown v4c (overused map, good map but so much overuse). i found 25 really amazing maps that are (from what i have seen) never used. one being rp california.

DONATOR/VIP RANKS

these are fine, they are to help the server but i am against these bullshit ones like £60 for 500 million in game and OP jobs and weapons. i am also against idiots who take donator ranks away from people without the donator cancelling the transaction or something similar. i personally have a £10 donator rank which is 0.40p less than my monthly cost for the server, which means they know im not taking the money and spending it on what i guess can only be a membership to the "i have a carbon copied DarkRP server" club.

i am also against server owners who take donations TO THE SERVER and use them as their PERSONAL PIGGY BANK. people donate to the server, not you. they donate to help the server and get new stuff not to fuel your chicken nugget fetish xD.

anyway i have to get back to work on my game lol. thanks for reading and i hope i have helped out some server owners from ruining their servers respective balance.
