Hi how would I make it so I can test my scripts in gmod? Like as soon as I drop a file, the server updates. As soon as I edit a file, The server updates. Im making a script and want to see how it turned out.
When you're starting a new game, click on the green "Single Player" button on the top-right corner. Then select a player count. This will start a server on your local machine. You can then use GMod's p2p functionality to invite your friends to this game.
Oh also Lua autorefresh is enabled by default.
Okay but how do I add addons, change gamemode to darkrp. And things like that?

You can either do as Aritz suggested, or you can install SRCDS on your computer and just run a test server that way. That's what I do. Just keep a folder on your desktop with the server files, and then a shortcut to srcds so you can set the gamemode, map, etc in the target commandline.

You're an idiot. I use ARitz method all the time. Actually know what you're talking about before you talk....
I just tried Aritz' method myself, works fine. Stop doing drugs.

I also create a local test server using srcds which I start via Steam (Called it "Garry's Mod - Developing"). Easy access and it also gives me a safer feeling because I prefer a "real" server over a multiplayer session... And as a last step I also test it on a root server using a Gamemode + many Addons.
In my opinion the best way.
Can someone link me to a video or thread on how to use srcds.
