I want to learn LUA

Hi im not new to gmod i have played the game for the last 3 years and i just now have come round to making my own server and trying to make a community i know that if i want my server to be popular and different i need custom things on it thats why i want to learn lua my question is what is the best way to learn it like how did you guys learn how to code in lua what programs do you use and what would be a good start for me

hopefully if i dedicate myself to learning lua i will make my own addons addons i look to make are stuff like npc shops huds and other things mainly darkrp

any help will be good

also forgot to add i have a good knowledge of html css and java and with these skills im usually able to look through the code for many addons and adjust them for the server that im running thats why i want to learn the language so i know exactly what im doing
