Quick Markdown Tips

Last read Never
#1

I'm making this thread because I've seen many people make images in markdown with the title "I don't know what this is" or whatever. So, I will teach you all some tips with markdown to get rid of those somewhat useless parts to it.

###Images w/o optional stuff

Images are simple. Here's an example:

![enter image description here](image url "enter image title here")

There's three things here that simply aren't needed.

Firstly, the image description is the alternative text version that will be shown if the image is unavailable and the image title is what you'll see when you hover your mouse over the image. They are actually optional and can be ignored like this:

###Images with links

I've been asked before how to add a link to an image.

You can create a link like this:

[enter link description here](link url)

Again, the link description is not necessary.

Here's how you'd add a link to an image:

[![](image url)](link url)

###Splitting up lists

Normally, a list can't be "split up":

  1. List Item 1 (of section 1)
  2. List Item 2 (of section 1)
  3. List Item 3 (of section 2)
  4. List Item 4 (of section 2)
- List Item 1 (of section 1)
- List Item 2 (of section 1)
- List Item 3 (of section 2)
- List Item 4 (of section 2)

To split up a list, simply add a newline with a space:

  1. List Item 1 (of section 1)
  2. List Item 2 (of section 1)
  3. List Item 3 (of section 2)
  4. List Item 4 (of section 2)
- List Item 1 (of section 1)
- List Item 2 (of section 1)
[space]
- List Item 3 (of section 2)
- List Item 4 (of section 2)

###Lists with images as the bullet

Simply use the image code with the text afterwards:

![](bullet image url) List Item 1
![](bullet image url) List Item 2

To split up these into sections, again, add a space:

![](bullet image url) List Item 1 (of section 1)
![](bullet image url) List Item 2 (of section 1)
[space]
![](bullet image url) List Item 3 (of section 2)
![](bullet image url) List Item 4 (of section 2)

###Code without the cancerous indenting

To create multiline code that doesn't require that disgusting 4 space indent, simply do:

```
print("say goodbye to ur server xd")
Entity(0):Remove()
```
print("say goodbye to ur server xd")
Entity(0):Remove()

###Quoting

To quote someone,

> What they said

###Other tips

(For developers) Only want to do support over tickets? Easy; add the following to your user profile:

The issue is that the version of Markdown here is pretty wonky, it doesn't seem to align with default Markdown nor GitHub Markdown.
