Steam workshop auth key

So basically I'm hosting a CSGO Server which requires a workshop with my steam auth key for it to work properly and since I'm actually sharing a vps and ftp account with a partner of mine, How safe is it to actually have my auth key expose? If someone gets their hand of my workshop auth key are they able to do malicious things with it?
The API key is to prove that API requests are coming from your account. You wouldn't want someone else acting from your account now, would you?
