About PrimalNetworks

PrimalNetworks is a comprehensive suite of interconnected Garry's Mod addons designed to enhance the DarkRP gameplay experience. We're building a cohesive ecosystem that moves beyond standard DarkRP limitations while maintaining compatibility with existing server setups.

What We're Looking For

I'm seeking passionate developers to join the PrimalNetworks team who can contribute to:

Frontend Development - Improving UI/UX across our various interfaces

Backend Systems - Enhancing our custom job system, party functionality, and employee management

Performance Optimization - Ensuring smooth operation and efficient resource usage

Feature Expansion - Developing new modules and functionality

Important Note: This is currently a volunteer position for developers looking to gain experience and build their portfolio. While there's no immediate financial compensation, there may be opportunities for revenue sharing if we decide to commercialize certain components in the future.

  1. Proficiency in Lua programming
  2. Experience with Garry's Mod development
  3. Understanding of DarkRP systems and hooks
  4. Ability to write clean, maintainable code
  5. Good communication skills and teamwork mentality
  6. Nice-to-Have Skills
  7. Experience with UI design in Garry's Mod
  8. Knowledge of networking and optimization techniques
  9. Previous addon development experience
  10. Familiarity with version control systems (Git)

Our Development Philosophy

We value:

  1. Clean, minimalist design with attention to detail
  2. Visual consistency across all components
  3. Modular architecture allowing for flexible implementation
  4. Performance-focused development practices

Why Join Us?

  1. Gain valuable experience in Garry's Mod addon development
  2. Build your portfolio with a substantial project
  3. Collaborative development environment
  4. Learn best practices and improve your coding skills
  5. Potential for future opportunities if we decide to commercialize

How to Apply

If you're interested in joining the PrimalNetworks team, please reply to this thread with:

  1. Your development experience, particularly with Garry's Mod
  2. Examples of previous work (screenshots, code samples, or links)
  3. Your areas of interest/expertise

“Employee management” interesting term to use when your Steam page has fewer than 40 users and half the links don’t even work. Just being honest here... nobodys signing up to work for free or do this as charity. If you’re listing “required skills,” you should also be listing compensation. If you think of your admins/moderators as employees at this stage/point, we can already see this isnt going anywhere. Lets be honest here no admin/mod is ur "employee" on a Garry's Mod Server in general..

This might be the funniest thing I’ve read in 2025. Why would any experienced developer sign up to work for free? You're not offering a job, you're asking for free/slave labor. while your writing this message do what a lot of others do and throw it "must be available 24/7, must work 40 hours a week, etc...🤣"

Let’s be real... what “valuable experience” is a developer supposed to get from a server that barely has 40 followers and a website that can’t stay live or properly linked? That doesn’t exactly scream “professional environment.”

“Collaborative development environment” implies theres more than one developer involved or at least more than one willing to volunteer. And “learn best practices” is a stretch when the most visible part of the project is a broken domain.

After finding your real domain,

Your "forums button leads to pterodactyl(https://forums.primalnetworks.co/auth/login) routing is not correct I would imagine. Same thing with ur "store" page. Socials are broken, Discord invite link is not valid, Steam/github work but why would you be releasing ur github page?

Yeah, I guess you're right. Some of the stuff in my post is straight-up outlandish, and I'm not going to pretend I didn't use AI to make this shit — because I definitely did. Truthfully speaking, I'm a one-man, maybe two-man job at best. This post served merely as a gateway to find possible developer prospects and people willing to join my team and hopefully build something cool.

While your reply may have been a little disheartening, it was humbling. I can't be mad at it. I laughed at some of the stuff you pointed out, simply because I know I can do a lot better than the sloppy mess of a project you've stumbled upon. I'm not going to apologize if you were expecting perfect, and if people aren't okay with doing something that doesn't earn them pay — I'm not really going to argue that point either.

PrimalNetworks is simply a vision I'm trying to bring to life, and I'm not going to crash and burn in the process of doing so by spending thousands on talent in the beginning stages, acting like I have this whole "running a community" thing figured out. Paying for this and that, paying for this custom addon and that custom addon? To hell with that, lmao. If the people I'm looking for are cool enough to join along for the ride, then that's great — hopefully we can all witness the fruits of our labor someday.

But nowhere in that post you read did I promise perfection. Sorry if that's what you were looking for
