Adding or editing cryptocurrencies

This article will explain how to add or edit cryptocurrencies from the Coinbase API.

To add or edit cryptocurrencies go to ch_cryptocurrencies/lua/ch_cryptocurrencies/shared/ch_cryptocurrencies_config_cryptos.lua

Coinbase API

You can browse their website here https://www.coinbase.com/browse

You can pick any supported crypto from their website and add to the addon.

Some cryptocurrencies are not supported and thus will not work with the API. When you click on a crypto it will show a box that says it is not supported, like this one.

Adding Crypto

In the file you will scroll to the bottom and copy one of the default cryptocurrencies. Like bitcoin for example:

CH_CryptoCurrencies_AddCrypto( {
Currency = "BTC",
Name = "Bitcoin",
Icon = "materials/craphead_scripts/ch_cryptocurrencies/gui/cryptos/btc.png",
} )

The Currency is the short prefix for the crypto. The coinbase browser always shows the short name next to the full name for all cryptos.

The Name is self-explanatory and can whatever you wish.

The Icon should be a path on your server where you've put the cryptocurrency icon. You will need to put it yourself and also make sure it gets downloaded to your client via workshop or FastDL.

To get an icon, you can simply click in on a crypto on coinbase. For example Bitcoin here. Now right click the icon and click "open picture in a new tab". Now you can save the picture and put it on your server.
