Best Host?
I own a few servers and I'm using diffrent hosting currently. I'm looking for a semi affordable good host for something such as a high end DarkRP Server with lots of players and ents around the map that will be able to run without lag.
Crident - great for ddos protection and server power NFO - great with server power and networking but more costy
https://crident.com/ https://www.nfoservers.com/
never use: nitrous servers or Serenity servers
I'm not being payed to say anything, I use to be a server owner for multiple games.
gmchosting is good hosting and has the great ddos protection out there. The top 3 gmod communities use it. I havent used them but I have heard good reviews about them.

gmchosting generated a ton of tickets at one point cuz of their shitty firewalls or whatever, never gonna use.

GMCHosting LLC is one of the best for the US. If you're in the EU - I'd say Crident - but I'm bias as I do operate it. Our DDoS mitigation is pretty much identical now-a-days. It's good shit.

Using GMC right now as my host of choice, can't say anything nice, would give an ass for better hosting solution.
Why don't you like Nitrous Networks? Whenever i used them they were absolutely perfect for me, would use them over any other hosting company to be honest.

Very heated debate inbound
The only people I'd say stay the hell away from is OVH. At first I thought they were pretty good, however, I've come to learn quite the opposite of them.
First off, they are not a good host for gmod servers -- because of the new browser feature in gmod, it bases things on ping and location, and I use to run Los Angeles, CA hosted servers, and we were heavily populated. At least 500+ players a day between two prophunt servers -- I moved to OVH because of their MC-32 package for $79 a month when I was paying $210+ before (both dedicated machines. Intel I7, 32GB RAM, etc.). The traffic instantly dropped down, and any returning player complained of servers being sluggish, tick rates weren't functioning properly, and then OVH itself gets hit a lot by DDoS attacks. I have two other friends who have/had OVH dedi servers, and everything would stop, our servers, the OVH Web Panels, and we'd have to wait for it to ride out. (All three of us with different boxes on different nodes would drop at the same time when these attacks happened). I'd call OVH, they would say they are aware of the issue, and they are trying to migrate the packets.
Then recently, they turned off the Firewall feature all together for Perm and Automatic migration and they won't even give an ETA for it at all -- so we have no firewall at the moment what-so-ever. I kept asking them about them getting a United States datacenter, and the first three techs said the DC were built and we were on a list for the next month or so to get migrated (3+ months ago) and then I called recently and they said it would be somewhere around another 6 months - 1 year.
Now keep in mind, I run my server unmanaged because I'm alright with doing everything myself -- but when I call them about issues related to their own issues, they didn't want to help much. I was also getting numerous "interventions" a day for a power cable. I called them and they finally switched me over to another box which had the same issues.
To be fair -- I did get a few tech guys on the phone who were extremely helpful, and sat there for 45min + plus to resolve my issue, but that was 5% of my calls. The others were "put in a ticket and our tech will see what is going on", sometimes a ticket would sit for 5+ days without a response.
The only saving grace is the fact I enjoy they have phone support if I need someone right then and there, however, it's not always helpful. I am in the process of purchasing another dedicated machine to migrate back over to the United States.
Keep in mind -- this was my experience. Not everyone will have the same thing happen, but out of three of us who all owned different dedi servers -- we all had similar circumstances and situations happen.
I had a server at https://crident.com/ for a short period of time. Excellent support!
