ULX Groups
Anyone have any suggestions on what kind of groups does a typical darkrp server require?
Your first mistake is not using my xAdmin. But to answer your question. It really depends on your personal preference. Do you want several “donor” tiers? If so you’ll need a group for each. Plan on having a large progression ladder for “staff”? You’re probably gonna need junior and senior ranks for both moderators and administrators sandwiched between them. If you’re gonna jew out and not provide your moderation team with free donor perks then you’ll either need to be lazy and create donor perk equivalent of each rank or be smart and use something like gas or sg to manage staff’s donation privileges (both gas and sg are very good addons and I suggest them both equally, tho gas may be a little heavy for just the secondary user group systems if you’re not already using it’s logs/whitelist, which you probably should be).
You should just get the basics of your structure down and build on it as needed. Can always add padding down the line if needed.
I hope this gave you some insight and guidance.
im not using xadmin because not many addons support it for ex. https://www.gmodstore.com/market/view/uMVjf-OIQ9yoqBJALfF6EA
It supports that. My xAdmin overrides the :GetUserGroup() method, so it works with most ulx permission things by default. I use that exact addon on my own community with xAdmin and have no issues.
Well i purchased xadmin today and will give it a try :D
Im thinking about doing it like the old days :D back when people played counter strike 1.6 people could just buy admin for a month :o
Don't
Se no problems by it, make sure to disable fadmin. Did this mistake once i was even more stupid, made the moderator rank with admin privileges. What i didnt knew, when adding to it this person can access fadmin in console. So basically he could do lot of damage.
Also make sure to make rabbit traps for your staff. Example, used a simple script that logged "noclip interaction with entity" and admin in duty was logged constantly with entities. So if staff interacted with any blacklisted entities, a chat print was made : this suspicious behavior are logged, pleas contact claims ASAP and state your reason lead to this message.
Overall, don4admin is a great way to build up staff. Over a year we had 1 guy banning everyone, just 1 of MANY. But we had lot of abusing incidents
