My community is starting a covenantRP server and there is a lack of covenant related halo maps. most are heavily favoring the humans and, honestly, poorly designed. Hello, I'm asking for your help on editing a map that I already have purchased, with the original .vmf file. Only issue I seem to be having is the custom textures used by the original map creator are not being loaded into hammer. Not sure if it's me doing something wrong. I added you on steam, if you'd like to discuss further. The things that need to be to the map are very minor. Thank you.

I'll do this at no cost, and I'll post a general fix for this on this thread since a lot of people seem to have a similar problem to this. Also, I'll do the edits for you for no cost, as long as it's nothing major. It'll just be a day or two; I've got a job interview and finals to deal with.

When getting a VMF from someone, whether it be purchased or through 'other methods' you need to have them send over the textures and models as well. In some cases, everything can be packed into a bsp and unpacked later, if done right, but it's usually just easier to send a models and materials folder as well.

That being said, since it is a VMF and not a packed BSP they will have to send over the textures and models no matter what. Or you can simply click on the missing texture, and replace all instances of that texture in the map with a different one. (I tend to do this when using other maps as a base to build off of)

Someone may have more efficient methods than me on this, as Hammer is not the only engine I use so there are still some advanced features or shortcuts that I may not know of.
