What should I start with?

Hi everybody, I'm new to coding but have some experience with Lua, JavaScript and HTML. Each of the languages I have learned I know very minimal in and would like to start with improving my Lua skills, I was wondering what is a simple task I can start with... I have made a very simple drug cooking system before which could use some tweaking but I want to start a new project to help me learn more. I want to improve my coding enough to be fluent in it.

How I learnt my basics was by reverse engineering scripts... try starting with the wiki: [Click me!] (http://wiki.garrysmod.com/page/Main_Page)

Thanks for the reply, im just really not getting how I would go about doing that, I understand the basics (kind-of) but I don't know how to put it all together to make something. If that makes sense lol...

make cheats in Lua everyone does it when you first start at least me, billy, beast and a lot of others

cheats give you a pretty good understanding of what you can do with GUI, hooks that follow a bone on a player, etc..

I'll take a look, should I follow one of the tutorials then edit it and add more things? Or should I start with nothing and read off the wiki on adding hooks and writing it myself.

do whatever is more fun, I found that Lua isn't fun for me but web type stuff such as php, html and css are so I quit Lua and went to those and it worked out better than Lua would have. If you don't have fun with the language you're after might wanna switch.

be warned: if you are weak minded you will become a faggy lua skid for about 2 months, maybe even more. educational purposes only

My bad, didn't bother reading the caption under "General Discussion" since I just wanted to know what I should do to start coding, since it did say "General Discussion"...

No problem, a common mistake - especially seeing how many people replied.
