What would this job cost?

So basically you want a site that allows users to advertise items they have for sale in game? Couldn't you just create a separate category in your forums to do this? Also, I don't understand why people are pricing this super high. You are not handling transactions nor are you requesting it to communicate with the server. AT MOST I'd do $100-$150

This is absolutely wrong, and you pay for the quality you get. People who undercharge are the worst to deal with as it makes people fail to understand why they need to have a better budget.

If you work for minimum wage then sure $100-150 would be fine. Most developers don't work for minimum wage though, I certainly don't.

As I explain to most who fail to reasonably budget - you aren't just paying a developer for their time. You're also paying for their expertise. They took their time to learn how to properly develop (hopefully), so that ends up coming at a price.

There are other options out there like this; https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1555625 I understand it isn't what you've described but it's similar.

Pointshop pro might be worth considering too. It'd probably be cheaper to pay someone to add/change certain features to meet your needs on this one.

I don't think you've read through it all. I said I'd like a website (This is Lua). If you also check back a few replies, I've already mentioned this as an example

Because I want something easier for the users to use with a nicer, interactive interface. Also, to bring something unique to what I am doing (And the community) as just making another sub-forum is unoriginal and can be a pain to monitor.

$500 is way too much to check databases. It seems like you didn't read the OP or any of his replies.

OP can't even clearly state what they were looking for.

too much to check databases

It's more than just reading a fucking database if they want a store like site where users can submit an item that contains stuff such as a banner, price, and description.

Sure you could whip up a site with steam auth, where a user can go to a form page, fill out the details, submit the form, PHP processes it and inserts a row, and then have a page that pulls x amount of items from the table and lists them out in a friendly fashion, but that's a generic run down of it. There's still optimizing the entire site's queries if it's essentially a store without real transactions. It will be heavily accessed along with other things to worry about such as possibly banning users from listing items, method of handling image banners, theme configuration, categories, etc.

You're not just paying for the final project in a job, you're also paying for the work and skill that went into it.

Clearly you haven't. He wants a site in which it's posting, and pulling item sales. You'll have to securely do this, as well as design and structure the site.

People like you are the reason people undervalue developers.

Here, before you attempt to begin a flame war, simply fuck off. I've stated through replies (Giving examples) onto what I'd be looking for, and it seems to be everyone aside you that gets it. And you also seem to the be the funny one needing to comment on it. Whether it be in the first or last reply I've stated what I'm looking for and others understand what I'm looking for. If you're not hear to answer the bloody question, then fuck off.

You really needed to provide an example. To be honest it sounds like a form of Craigslist, where you post something you're selling, and people are aware of it then.
