How do i download addons to my gmod server

Off the workshop or from gmodstore?

Gmodstore

Goto the addons page, click the download button and drag the folder into your servers addons folder.

It's not working.

Is there a video or a site that can tell me how to do it?

Stupid and obvious question but you are unzipping the addon right?

I'm extremely confused I know basically nothing about lua or anything about making a server.

You do realize, that gmodstore is a platform for paid addons - You will need to purchase them before you'll be able to download it.

I did pay for them.

Off to a great start for another Gmod Server.

Seriously. If you even fail to download addons, I doubt that you'll be able to configure/use them and furthermore, even manage a server at all.

I completely agree with momox,

1. Download the file
2. Unzip the file onto your desktop
3. Use your favourite FTP Client
4. Log Into your FTP Client
5. Then drag the zip folder(Not the contents) into garrysmod/addons

If you struggle then i'd suggest stopping your server and research it a bit more.

Some addons might require specific installation to use. Such as being placed within certain folders inside of your addons. I would advise contacting the creator to find where.

1) Download FIle Zilla

2) Login using the username and password provided by your server host in an email (when you purchased your server). The host bar can be filled by copying the ftp section on the control panel so in this case it would be: 185.44.78.70:8821 https://gyazo.com/c015872eacd0c8f1228a003793622873

3)Log in

if you see yours similar to image 1) click on garrys mod folder and now you should have the same as image 2), now from there open your addons folder. Download the addon from the gmodstore and DONT drag the folder in the zip file into your addons, you must drag the zip file which should look like this https://gyazo.com/f5ac0081c5612fbd3ad6b2713991c23a (drag your zip file and place it into your addons folder by using filezilla)

Again goto your addons folder, find the addon you uploaded https://gyazo.com/78b15f32f3e0b765cc670a259b0082bf under the action section the button on the right of the globe, where it says extract (when you put your mouse over it ) press on it,

6)delete your zip file and the licence if there is any and restart your server

Note: some addons have many folders with in the zip, just drag the folder which contains an lua folder in it into a new zip and drag the zip into the addons folder.
