Best Admin Mod Currently?
ULX has been around for ages at this point, meaning the code is pretty much like windows xp emulated on windows 10. Is there a newer admin mod out there that is optimized and made to new current standards? I've heard of Serverguard and Maestro but I cant figure out what to use.
This might not be the best one, but it's definitely the most underrated. Moderator is actually a pretty dope admin mod. It requires no knowledge of lua (GLUA, L.U.A, gLUA, glua, glue) to operate. You just need to know how to edit tables -_-.
However, the github link I posted doesn't work if I can remember correctly. But I believe Nookyava did end up fixing it up and uploading it somewhere but I cant find it
The fixed version (I think): https://github.com/Aevret/moderator
Are you guys sure?

Not saying ULX has an overall better backend but it's still beine maintained...
momox don't be silly, it doesn't need to be update if it's already perfect
this is why microsoft stopped updating (kinda) Windows XP, they managed to make the perfect OS
This is also why they don't sell it anymore, they're being selfish
inb4 people bring up ulx performing badly due to heavy file i/o
Personally, i use D3A which i believe is much more easier to work around and understand
Yeah I wanted to use D3A but I could never find it. I thought it was custom or something
Is it custom or where do you get it?
yes, it is custom, however, I believe the creator(s) of it are selling it to trustful/semi-big communities.
aStonedPenguin and KingofBeast sell it but like sugar stated, you must at least be at those requirements to get it and also from what I’ve seen, people like GamingLight have been waiting to buy it for months but no luck.
Unless you are running some massive community with A LOT of players then there really is no reason not to use ULX imo. There are plenty of addons for it on the ulx website for it that allow for mysql etc.

I agree, ULX does have the most support and addon support. For me imo I wanna find something new instead of going with same old of what Im used too.
The main reason why I have not switched to something better like server guard is because the majority of addons lack support for it. However, now that I am slowly but surely moving over to a complete custom server something like D3A or server guard is becoming an option.
Who here thinks serverguard is better than ulx?
I use server guard, used ulx for a couple years in the past. We have the budget to pay for its support on our scripts if needed. That being said its the most convenient for us and best looking haha.
How much is D3A? I just want to compare prices vs server guard. I think that'll determine which would be the better choice.
Well it would be way more expensive now mainly because it is a custom addon, so if you get the chance to buy it , it will be much more expensive lol it’s way more expensive
ulx isn't bad for starting communities, especially since nearly all hosts provide SSDs so gmod doesn't BM you and lock the server while writing to the disk d3a is better for larger communities (and afaik they only sell to larger communities) serverguard in its current state ehhhh, v2 looks great but I doubt it'll come out
those r all my personal experiences, there's not a perfect admin mod and getting a custom one (by commission or something) is tbh a waste of money (also dan: d3a is in the triple digits category)
also ulx isn't really bad at all, it's just the most used admin mod so like everything else that's super popular it's just a hate mentality
D3A is 200 bucks.
