Featured Scripts

Personally I visit gmodstore by tying gmodstore.com into the search bar. Thus automatically bringing me to the front-page where all the featured scripts are shown. To answer your question though if I look at them? I only really look at them if they catch my eye otherwise I pretty much ignore them. When looking for scripts though I categories the scripts from 'newest items'.

The way the layout currently is on the homepage places the featured scripts at the bottom before the knowledgebase section, so I feel like most people don't really pay attention to it because there's the link to the marketplace right there where they can view all scripts. It may be just because of my resolution, but in my opinion (for the current layout), the featured scripts should at least appear before the typical template icon + description of the website features like so:

And for the content creators: Do you think it's worth (at the moment) to buy a featured script place until gmodstore is released or do you think it's a waste of money because they might be hard to notice by everyone?

I never knew content creators can pay to show their scripts in the featured section, but it does seem kinda of a let down as I mentioned before with the current layout. The updated screenshot you linked looks way better and I definitely think it brings out the feature scripts because it's simply more eye catching and would benefit those who pay for the featured spots.

Content creators pay ~$4 to get their script featured for 3 days, we have a total of 3 times we can feature every month and only one script can be featured afaik (I think I remember billy featuring bwhitelist and blogs at the same time idk)

This is the view I see on a 1920x1080 monitor, not much different.

Finally found the image for gmodstore's new feature scripts.

Definitely will bring more attention especially since most people do go to the market (aka scripts directory) instead of the front page.

From a sellers stand-point with the current layout, when I feature a script -- I'll notice maybe a boost of 1-10 extra purchases in the three day period. The only reason I'll notice is because if I haven't had a script sell in a week or so, I'll feature it, and see how it does. Usually sales will pick up a bit, and then after the featured time is over, sells would dip again. No it doesn't make a HUGE difference, but at the same time with most scripts, if you make 1-2 sales, you've gotten your money back, so it's not too bad.

With the new layout, featured scripts should definitely have a bigger "spotlight" and make the investment way more worth it.

How effective is putting a script on sale and featuring it? I imagine that'll boost sales significantly for the 3 days? Or does it make little to no difference?

It really depends on who is browsing the site. Like prime example, myself, I only see like the first two rows of featured, and I just go about going to other pages. I usually never scroll down. Some people check featured first off, and some people never pay attention. It's just the roll of the dice. I've seen that sometimes yes it will help my sales increase, but sometimes I'd featured a script that literally gets no extra sales. Sorta just like putting a quarter into a slot machine.

I mean, am I a bit late or did anyone else notice this? 0.o

That is exactly what I do. Sometimes, however, I do look through the featured but I never buy any of them.

What determines your position on the featured section? Is it ordered by date featured? Is it random? Or?

Ordered by date and time featured.
