Since we have recently had a Halloween sale at GmodStore we thought a regular sale for Christmas would be too boring, let's spice it up a bit with a special event instead!

Starting at the 1st of December through the 24th of December, everyone who has spent more than or equal to $10.00 at GmodStore will be able to open an advent calendar square daily for a chance of winning an addon completely for free. Everyone can enter for a coupon for an addon. This means that if you come back to GmodStore every single day from the 1st to the 24th you will have 24 chances to win something. Surely you are bound to win at least something?

What do I have to do as a content creator?

Go to one of your teams and start opting your addons in to the event.

May I change my opt-in settings after the 1st of December?

Unfortunately no, we lock the opt-in submissions at the 1st of December (UTC timezone) automatically to avoid ending up with either less, or more addons in the collective quota than we anticipated.

I see there's no limit of how many I can give away, what if I give away a metric shit ton?

I'll do a run over and cap values if they are insanely large towards the beginning of the event

Why is there a $10.00 minimum to use the advent calendar for free addons? This is unfair!

This is due to concerns of registering multiple accounts do gain an advantage.

I'm glad you asked! Here's a distribution chart we took our time to make:

this means there's roughly a 10% chance to get a completely free addon if you've spent more than $10.00 of course.

I'm currently refactoring the UI to allow both coupons and free quotas for a single addon, once that's done any current entries will have to be deleted unfortunately. Sorry.

Edit: The UI has now been rewritten.

Addons need to be opted in, I doubt someone with that old addons will bother opting them in. I will do a search through all submissions towards the end of the month to check for absurd values

Would you be able to get DLCs and if so would there be something in place to prevent from getting a DLC that you don't own the main addon to?

You could be getting DLC and no, there won't be anything in place to prevent you getting a DLC you don't own the main addon of, this is due to the fact that sometimes communities have addons on different accounts. I could change my mind on this still, but that's how I see it right now. We'll find out once I get to evaluate the numbers.

Always take up an opportunity to give back to a community/website that has given me so much. I'll be opting in all of my stand alone scripts. And I'll need to speak to them but I doubt Ben or The One Free-Man would mind me adding a few copies of our colab scripts either. I loved the idea when you announced it in the discord a while back and seeing it come to light I love it even more. Let's give away some scripts!

This is nice! A question though, will people who are gifted addons for free still be able to post a review? Or will it be counted as a "manual assign", thus making them unable to review the script?
