I think there should be more payment methods than just PayPal; it would be great if they accepted bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.
The thing here is that the script author would have to manage money in multiple places at once, and with most of these the fees are so huge

What about credit/debit card payments? I would prefer that over PayPal. I think there's some open source card payment methods out there. I think G2A uses it. I don't know a lot about card payments so this is just a shot in the dark.

PayPal accepts payments via card through their gateway without signing in but if you got banned for whatever reason on PayPal and your card was linked, then you cannot even use that card.
Should I remind you all that ScriptFodder is only a middleman, not a payment platform? - Paying via card won't work because there's no API for such solutions, nor does ScriptFodder want to be responsible for such sensitive data as credit card numbers.
Paypal is the perfect solution and the only one that will be used due to it's flexibility and widely featured API.
Stripe could be used for cards, but it doesn't use a pingback URL which makes it impossible to detect frauds/chargebacks afaik

You can still use a card to pay directly to a PayPal accounts balance, I have done so before.

Yes, I know - but through paypal - I was talking about card payments without paypal.
