Just a simple question. What would you like to see in a DRM?
From the user side: Nothing. Users should not even be aware that a Script is using one. But this is pretty hard ...
From the dev side: Server IP, Name, Buyer SteamID 64, (Maybe: Server Ping, Map, Slots)

This. 100%. The experience should be seamless. This is why sha256 and webhook functionality exists.
Edited Automatic-updating Lua code was a nice perk with ARCLoad. It's not bad to have as long as you know what you're doing.

Make a dll file that you put in your lua/bin that does all the work, that way people can't mess with it as easily.

You don't think this has been done before? There are good reasons why this was never adopted widely. Way too much power for a random DRM to possess.

Yes because game hosts will love the fact a random shady 3rd party executable will be on their box. Even if they the service did the right thing when it comes to file permissions and/or jailing the customer, a random executable could still do some shit.
