Need beta testers for a new web add-on I'm working on
Hey all, I have an addon I'm working on that'll allow you to manage your servers from a website. There's a lot of work still left to be done so please do not think of this as a useable product today.
However, in order to help progress the development of the app, I need actual server data to make sure everything works smoothly as intended. If this sounds interesting, please leave a post below or add me on discord, [A]lex#3652
Requirement:
- An active server is required. Without an active server, I can't get the information I need on my end. It would be nice if you average at least a few players throughout the day.
- DarkRP Preferable. This will support all gamemodes, but right now my focus will be on ensuring darkrp compatibility.
Screenshots:
Keep in mind that the web UI is still being worked on. Not all information shown is accurate.

This looks great, good job.
Nice Job bud i like the Server display :)
This UI is so HOT.
Thanks for the compliments everyone :) the project is coming along nicely.
The features I think will be pretty bare on initial release but the backend (which is most of the work imo) will be there.
Features you guys can expect on release:
- Drag-and-drop install. No configuration files, no edits, no hosting, nothing. Simply add the add-on and restart the server
- Live updates on the website. Once you install the addon and restart, you will see your server added live on the dashboard
- Live player-count updates (last 24 hours). Once the server is added, every half an hour your server will be pinged to see how many players are online. See the changes in real-time
- Dark mode. Feel free to switch themes on the website
- Mobile friendly - Feel free to moderate your server right from your phone
- Periodic uploads
- Every 5-10 minutes, server events are uploaded to the cloud. Feel free to look at the data even when your server is offline
- Live chat (GW Sockets needed)
- In addition to the periodic uploads, the second you go on the dashboard, you'll switch the server to real-time information. Chat with your players right from the website!
- Event viewer
- You'll be able to see the events that have happened on your server
- More advanced features will come after release (i.e. tools to help determine RDM)
There has to be some minimal configuration unless the website is hosted by you.
So it's a SaaS, meaning you're storing all the data?
The site will be hosted by me to ensure everything works seamlessly. It would be hard to introduce the features I want with the simplicity and reliability I want without doing this. It’s not just a simple php app that can be hosted, unfortunately. Everything isn’t without its tradeoffs, but we already have self-hosted solutions out there (Neutron Admin)
Yes, I'll be storing all the data (via firebase).
There's an inherit trust system with this, but with the firebase security rules I set and the nature of the data (you sign in via steam, so all I store is your steam id and server events/player history) - I don't think the ask is too much.
If I were a server owner, I would prefer having to rely on as little externalities as possible. If you can get easy self hosted solutions thats great but if not I think that might hurt sales. Just saying.
I understand, and it will. However to have the features I want, unfortunately this was a conscious decision I made knowing the side effects.
It’s all about trade offs at the end of the day.
What features exactly?
Having access to a real-time database using firestore, websocket server for real time communication with the server, and scheduling routine functions (ping server periodically to see if online / how many players are on) are the major infrastructure I want for this project. Additionally smaller things, like my app is a single page application, so the web host needs to redirect everything to index.html. While not impossible to set up as a self host, many would struggle and I want my app to just work. Having done customer support in the past, that is something I would not want to deal with.
Progress so far for those interested:
I would love to try this out, how can I get in touch.
