My name is Brandon,

I've run Garry's Mod servers for over 11 years, and during that time I've become a subject-matter expert in the Garry's Mod space.

I'm a professional Software Engineer with a day job. I've been coding professionally for almost a decade now. Ruby, JS, C# - I've done it all in the workplace, and I use what I learn at my job to make better Software in Garry's Mod.

I'm currently looking for interesting (medium-large) jobs that will help bring your dream to life!

I'm also available for consultation/project management. I've managed a team of developers both professionally and in the GMod space for many years.

I can make external web services, beautiful in-game UI, and everything in between. If you have a job, I'm certain I can help.

Note: I'm not interested in any jobs that are framework-specific (i.e "nutscript develper" ).

About Me

My Gaming Community ( CFC Servers ) has stood the test of time, competing with the most established and popular sandbox servers.

In part, this success is due to the vast amount of custom content that me and my team have created. I (and by extension, CFC) am heavily committed to the Open Source community. Except under specific circumstances, everything I make is public.

CFC has over 300 public projects! Our team has made contributions to almost every major GMod project and even Garry's Mod itself!

I would love to use my knowledge to help you build the cool idea that's stuck in your head. I'm also open to helping you debug, optimize, fix, and improve existing code (lord knows I have experience doing that!)

Things I'm good at

Garry's Mod Lua

Of course, after spending a decade making high-quality, novel Garry's Mod addons, you pick up a trick or two.

While there are still some aspects of GMod I haven't fully explored, I am more than prepared to tackle any project you can think of.

I also have a great deal of experience modifying/enhancing/optimizing existing addons.

Newer developers, when presented with a horribly coded and poorly-performing addon, will often suggest a complete rewrite. Over the years, I've learned how to read and understand an existing addon, identify the trouble points, and make improvements without having to resort to a large-scale rewrite.

Linux

I've been working with Linux professionally for almost as long as I've been running GMod servers.

I am not credentialed or licensed, but I have a great deal of Linux experience.

Setup, security, permissions, automation - you name it, I've done it plenty.

I am not a professional web developer (though I used to be), but I can still get the job done using the latest technologies and best practices.

CFC Servers

I founded and currently manage CFC Servers, a popular GMod community that hosts primarily Sandbox servers. We're currently the most popular and longest-running Sandbox server on Garry's Mod (all without a single donation in over 10 years!)
