New Gmodstore is awful
Is anyone else hating this new GMOD store? the old one was 100x more functional lookup addons was easier reading messages was easier! my main thing actually finding where your support tickets are is a hassle its not under notifications anymore! as well as messaging a mod author takes 3 more steps to do so now. Ease of access has gone down the drain
While I can agree the old one was more functional, I believe this one has the same intention of being easy to use its just that notification's and messages seem to be super bugged. Same for support tickets.
I'd just give it a while, the same functionality will slowly come back with even more goodies thrown in. It's just a shame a few useful things don't appear to work correctly.
shouldnt they have kept the old one until this one was worked thru a development test team? now we are all suffering because they pushed something that should have never of left development
You aren't suffering so chill please and not everything can be tested in development
no new gmodstore a beast
aren't you dead????
edit
tfw no one looked at his name and understood what i said 🤦
No, kind sir, I disagree.
Sure there are quite a few bugs, sure it can be slow at times, but these are temporary nuisances that are not worth complaining for. Overall, v3 brings quite a few awaiting features that I think outweighs the temporary negatives.
Worth it for the confused smiley alone, in my opinion.
reel slow
There may be some issues but they are being fixed, its not like it would come out perfect either way. Its a great look for gmodstore.
It only started a few days ago, there will obviously be bugs but dude, will you really rant out how bad it is after they spent so much time and effort for it? Perhaps instead of just saying it's bad, give some proper advice. You're just saying "ooo it was more functional", "ooo idk where tickets are" but that isn't even close to advice.
You haven't even mentioned all the features they've added in gmodstore v3. They might as well just stay in that version of gmodstore forever and never improve because there wasn't anything broken with it but they've progressed and I'm very happy with it.
Also, how come you're suffering? Literally the only people who could suffer are developers but I don't see any complaining about the update?
GModstore v3 may have a few bugs and the reason for that is when you code an addon or a website, one or a few friends are not enough to bugtest it. People always find weird bugs which just seem impossible to get while the site might look good it to the creator it might contain a bug or two, its the clients / users that find them and the management team fixes them.
The site also has quite a bit more unique functions and yes, it is missing a few bits. The site only got updated a while ago, just wait it out. It is not that easy to change some bits of the site and if there's constantly requests to change stuff it's going to slow down development.
Just wait a while and it will be fine... no need to make a thread about it.
If you want to rant, do it properly. Tell us how you wish it was easier to navigate scripts, tickets and get help instead of just saying “this, this and this sucks”.
Literally useles, so please reconsider your post.
Seems you like the new protection system though: https://www.gmodstore.com/jobmarket/jobs/MhwlRizAS_e942rd9wNB3Q
I didn't experienced any slowdowns, maybe only when loading messages to the forum / discussions / reviews. It's almost impossible to compare the two versions of GmodStore, because the new version has many more features...
The only thing that bothers me, it's the "Marketplace" dropdown menu. It's just a suggestion, but maybe "Popular addons" should not redirect lower down the page, but directly in "Browse addons" with a tag "Popular addons". By the way, let's talk about this menu, it's so beautiful!
It just needs updates that's all, It's not perfect yet but might be in the future!
So i put a list of all the things i dont like and yet somehow it ranting. All im saying is when you push a dev build on a website that brings in revenue like this it shouldn't be near non functional. I understand its new and will be worked our eventually but would you expect something like this from curseforge or steam? Curseforge actually makes less money then this website
oh boy here we go again with this annoying child
I agree with you on some points.
But we will take the habitude to using this new GmodStore
We had a beta period that lasted nearly two months. All issues reported during the beta were fixed, and we decided to go live with the update because it's the only way to move on and fix the remaining issues. All essential functionality is there and there's no "game breaking" bugs. There are a few annoying bugs that we are trying to work out but they do not affect regular users, only content creators. The biggest issues being: monthly reports being broken and statistics not updating and or also showing wrong numbers.
This version of the website, believe it or not, has been in development for nearly three years. It takes a LOT of time to perfect a website at this scale and make it bug free with the amount of resources we have (we do not work full time on GmodStore. we are currently three developers, most of the time only two. And a lot of the three years it was only me). We appreciate the input but we have a lot of stuff on our plate, a lot of bugs to fix and a lot of new features to add over time. Most of the things with the new website will just take some getting used to as tickets are no longer in a unified area for both users and creators to differentiate the UX a bit more. Users should no longer ever have to access the dashboard, and instead use the other front-end pages like "help" and their own settings area. If you want help your first bet should be to go to the "help" section.
