Job posting rant
Alright so I don't exactly apply for jobs often on here but I love to look at them and I am really getting tired of seeing "Details will be discussed on private chat." or "I need custom lua code join my discord for more details". which then it takes 2 days to actually get ahold of you on Discord. Like how do they expect to find the right person for the job? Just because someone can code lua doesn't mean they can do it all. And the same goes for mapping. Some people are more proficient in different categories in both fields. And then those people say "Well I don't want anyone to steal my idea" Well is your server gonna be locked down with no players on it forever? No. Everyones gonna see your custom hud/map so your logic doesn't make any sense. So please, if you're gonna post a job, please list all the details on what you want and you'll probably get a more qualified person for the job and you'll quit wasting everyones time including yours. And don't even get me started on these budgets, like do you really expect someone who knows how code/map to actually spend 20 hours on your project for $2 a hour? Like these people worked their asses off to learn these skills. Yeah I know you shouldn't be looking to make a living off Garry's Mod but still some of these people need money to pay for college or to eat. So if you keep posting jobs and you keep getting shitty work/results then maybe increase your budget, provide more details, and research the person you plan to hire. That's all.
Have a wonderful day guys

90% of server owners are incompetent, so this really isn’t surprising to me.
I have the same Problem with Developers. I have listed what i need and explicit say that the 20$ is just a baseline and i need someone for some long time work and we can discuss the payments privately. Then i get applicants who say "join my discord" or "add me on steam" i add them tell them again what i need they say "lets talk tommorow" for over a week....its anoying so much that im currently trying to upgrade my "i can fix some stuff" lua knowledge to more even if i would like to use my time differently...
I guess there are problems on both sides and its more person related.

Please don't imply the guys applying in /job/ are the same releasing scripts here
Well okay tbh thats true. Most of them who apply didnt realesed anything public here. But for me as someone who is searching for a dev and not a finished script in the marketplace this is the only thing i see. So far what i have seen in the forums of the devs who realese stuff to the marketplace they are better.
People who can make GayRP jobs are not devs.

Report any job that says “Details will be discussed on private chat.” and I will delete it when I get time.
I apologize in advance if what I'm about to say about Snorlak is very misinformed.
I thought our boy Snorlak was brought in to manage the job section, given his impressively high job rep, that was the whole point in joining the team? I haven't applied for a job in a long while, but from my quick glance just now it seems much better than it was 3 or so months ago, so I guess he's doing his job? Your average users won't read the site rules, (and although that is 100% their fault) it may help to provide a short "notice" when posting a job on what is/isn't allowed, or even a link to direct them to the rules.
This is so fucking accurate, thank you for making this. All of the points made here are super accurate, and I couldn't agree more.

The average gmodstore dude (More like the Pareto principle) doesn't give a fuck about reading anything
- Doesn't read the description
- Open a ticket to ask a question even if his answer is in the description
- Answer him
- He doesn't read the answer

Had some expirience with trying to hire content creators, couldn't get past job outlining, I guess those who sell scripts here are too busy for the jobs or / and recieve more income from scripts selling. Always had a feeling like I didn't enter some sort of password to continue. Basically the jobs section cuts for me in two cats:
- People who won't take jobs because they're too busy /at the highest level of food chain already
- Those who'd like to take lots of money for easiest of things (like analogue of chair throwing swep for $10+) that I could myself and when I'm asking of really unique stuff that no one has then they won't go to up the price to 3digits+, no, they would rather say 'that's impossible'.
So just like Neko I had to improve my skills and based on how many tech improvements I see on swrp market (that I'm interested in), the situation isn't unique for us.

There is no need for us to do Jobs, we can make more than 3k per scripts, while making a script will take only few weeks/few days.
Tbh i don't want to to jobs because i don't like working on something that doesn't "inspire" me, plus i will make less than $100 on a 4-day project, that's ridiculous compared to a script.
The admins, might want to make it a little more clear before removing said job from gmodstore. And linking a thread that had clearly included everything. And then you scroll down a bit and see someone who puts one line description and there job has been there for a day! If you ask me admins are going about this wrong. But I understand the frustration for jobs that only get listed with VERY little description! Yet they expect the job to be done.
Just because your job was removed doesn't mean they're wrong, lol. I actually think they're being too nice.
