What would this job cost?
So, the job I had in mind was a web one: Basically have the developer create a marketplace where users can post their items for a set price (It would not involve any Lua however. All transactions would be done in-game) If you wanted an example, the gmodstore marketplace. - People sign in with steam, post their item (Which wouldn't need to be approved) and then people can buy. As well as this, people would also be able to set up shops in a separate tab giving names to them, banners, item amounts (Ability to disable certain items)
So like every other selling website other there such as Ebay and Amazon?
Around $500 give or take.
You pay for quality. $500 will get you someone who is either desperate for the money, or isn't comfortable with their skillset. We're talking a website here, not something for Garry's Mod (even though it's going to be usable in Garry's Mod)
Depending on your features you'd be best looking at Freelancer to get a price range based on what they typically budget for.
$2,500 is usually the most popular bid amoungst commercial type websites.
So maybe I missed something but he wants a user to submit an item with an image, title, price, and description. He wants users to buy that item which transfers to in game. There is nothing commercial about that, this is solely for gmod and no real money is being transferred. The money is handled in game, you just edit a database for the items and money. Unless I missed something where you want profiles, forums, jobs, approval systems, moderation, statistics, reviews, comments, purchasers, searching/filtering, versions, tags, languages etc., this is a pretty simple project. From what you described, you didn't want this stuff. I gave a price for what you described, if you want these features then of course the price would be much much more. For what was described $2,500 would be charging over $150/hr.
Footsies hit the nail on the head. It is based on gmod only with the money not being actual money, but rather money that the users handle between themselves in-game (Monitored by myself) Here is a example of what I want it to come out like, so you can get more of an idea on what you think the price may be https://i.gyazo.com/33580ba2cb9d124f341389b0fca3c8ba.jpg Yes I have used gmodstore as the example however there is a much different theme that I'd like to be added (https://limelightgaming.net/) as that's the community I plan to make this for

For what you described in the photo i'd say $600-700.
I'm confused then, how is it gmod related when the user said it wouldn't involve any LUA?

It is gmod related because it's for a gmod server, that will contain gmod items

As in game items which are usable while playing gmod? If so, that still requires Lua. I took a quick look at ~~your~~ the site, specifically the marketplace section, and it seems like that's what you want this for?

Problem is the gamemode is custom, which is why I've not asked for a lua section. The items posted on the web would be done from images, making everything virtual to the web rather than taking things from players inventory And (Not my website) the marketplace on the website is what I'm trying to imitate (Obviously more advanced than posting a thread) Another example people could go off of for this would be Gbay: https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1555625

I thought Gbay was like 95% lua?

It is a lua addon, dunno why he used that example. Still the same concept of selling items.
I honestly have no idea what this user is expecting to be made unless the custom gamemode he mentioned already handles all of the in game items and stuff and the website part is just interacting with an already existing database of these items from the gamemode.
This is going to be a really shit example, but:
Like prometheus, but with RP money? And it's more entities/weapons rather than things like ranks?

I used Gbay as it gives a pretty accurate representation on the type of function I'd like. I know it's Lua, like I said, an example of functionality. And, please, read. Everything is web based. Ignore the in-game items. Actual Ebay would be an alright 3rd example (just don't include the money transactions): all items are given face to face as well as the money. The website is just a place to almost advertise you having an item you want to sell

I can see what you mean with Prometheus as an example and for what you're thinking it probably could turn out somewhat like that however for the few little minded people on this website, I don't think this would be a clear enough example for them
All that is edited is a database. You don't need to know lua to edit a database...

So basically you want a site that allows users to advertise items they have for sale in game? Couldn't you just create a separate category in your forums to do this?
Also, I don't understand why people are pricing this super high. You are not handling transactions nor are you requesting it to communicate with the server. AT MOST I'd do $100-$150
