Getting Started
So I am interested in getting into the field of coding, I know a bit of Java (Bukkit API, It's used for minecraft servers) to be more strict. But I code Minecraft plugins. I would love to start coding addons here for people to use, but I don't know where I can learn lua, or gmod hook for lua. I learned about the addon.json, which is very similar to the plugin.json in Minecraft, which is used to identify the plugin and the server knows it's a plugin. I was looking around into other addons I had downloaded to see what theirs was composed up of, so far I know you need a autorun, which I can see why. Can anyone recommend a certain youtube video/series on how to code Garry's Mod addons, or even just a text tutorial on a website. If anyone can help me, that would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Yes, your first lession:
It's Lua(or lua) not LUA
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST - STOP FUCKING CAPPING LUA. IT'S NOT LUA!!! AHHHH!!!
-Edit- Sorry, sort of lost it there... had to go take my meds. I'm better now. Use the Gmod wiki -- Most the shit I learned was by opening other dev's scripts and figuring out how they did their stuff. Then tuning and tweaking to make it better. Never once have I ever watched a single Lua video on YT.
Where should I start at for a beginner. I heard a derma is a good starting point, but knowing Java, a gui can't be that different from what I've seen.

I'd try this: CodingBeasts Youtube Channel (Apologies if I'm not allowed plug youtube accounts for advertising, new to posting here)
Here's his DARKRP 2.5 Coding tutorial for lua:
Pretty detailed and actually goes through the script line by line.
Good luck bud!
