AI are shifting the power balance, and do you use AI for the gmod server?
Hi fellow people, im a old gmod player from the begining, experiencing the magic of rp_downtown original to sanbox mayhems.
Before AI the "Lua" coders was gods, we praise them, we loved them, and we was seen as "peasants" neewbies. Yet as becoming older in my 30s, realizing Lua is not really that hard vs other languages, then AI came.
Table has turned, now a cheap 20x Claude account can run a gmod server 24/7! Really crazy.
My questions, are you guys worried or happy and how are you using AI within gmod servers?
Both, on one hand, the creativity died almost completely but on the other, it opened up opportunities for most people.
For instance, someone who had a great idea can now code it with ease, but the guy that just wants to copy a server will just do a sloppyfied version of it when in the past, he might have innovated somehow
Personally, as much as it pains me to see slop, I believe that the democratization of media is a good thing
