I received a notification saying someone bought my script.

Apparently he purchased it one hour ago but downloaded it 5 days ago? g

PayPal says 5 days ago too

Never experienced a 5 day delayed notification before, lol.

It could have been paid by "E-Cheque" meaning that it takes payment from his bank in a non instant method. I get that quite often on my business paypal account. Hope this helps.

It just reset the purchased time when you received the new notification. I have no idea why that would happen as PayPal's API is unpredictable. It was not an eCheque as they only get enabled once the payment has gone through.

I'm going to reply, I got notifications that I bought scripts again. Like, I got those notifications, then a day or two later, I get them again, in the same order. Why?
