Selling access to a service?
If I created a system that would allow you to create your own loading screen (or smth else) via my own website, could it be sold here on SF if I just STATE that it's not some code you download, but just access to my website where you can create your own loading screen using my interface to create loading screens?
To clarify: Users don't get the website code, they login via Steam, I check if they have access to the script, I let them use my interface to create loading screens graphically no coding required, they get a hashed URL for their loading screen.
I could let them download the HTML code for the loading screen, depends on what SF mods thinks about this
It's an interesting idea, I would take a shot and show us a model of how you plan it all to work out.

I'd say this is fine. Just add a text document in the script download with the link to the website or something. You can use the SF API to check whether they've purchased it.

I don't know how his works, but you use an interface where you choose what kind of background you want (solid, gradient, image) then you can create boxes (rounded,flat,polygon shapes) and add text. I'm not exactly sure how its gonna be done, like what options there will be offered but its kinda like Weebly but without the drag'n'drop functionality (partly).

And Billy yeh I know, been using SF API recently for my DRM (ain't paying $10 monthly for 100 lines of PHP)

i would think they would want to see the website source.. to make sure ya know its legit and yeah.. idk tho just what i think would happen

Most people can't even install a loading screen let a lone make their own.... I highly doubt a user will do this nor do I think this would be allowed ( considering nothing like this has been in made in the past. ) If this happened to be allowed what would make yours different from the free alternatives? ( the coding beasts ).

Well TCB's has some paid features.. so those and maybe fully customable.. TCB's is very limited

Key words: "some paid features.." his will be completely paid. I don't use his website to make anything however. Creating a loading screen is honestly still one of the easiest tasks (IMO).

Still if he makes a super good one with TONS of options i can see him being able to make a paid version.. TCB is so over used and old and annoying and i dont beleive he offers support so no more music or anything.. just not as good as some can be!
