DRM an why I think it sucks.

But what stops you asking the creators to add x thing to config so you could edit it?
Because most script creators do not do this when you ask them to add something to edit. At Least with the countless requests I did for this most of the time I got a no or no response at all. The scripts that I have without any DRM makes it enormously easy to edit small things and not have to wait for the developer.

Or hooks to extend/modify functionality that is protected by DRM? I did this for my gamemode, it takes around five seconds.Personally, I'd prefer people to not mess with core functionality. (Example: DayZ Inventory system)I hate people opening tickets about an issue they've made for themselves that has caused me to waste an hour of my time debugging> Yeah, no thanks, i'd prefer it not be modified.
Why do you have to give support when they modify the script? I would only give them support if they can prove that the error isn't caused by their modifications. Just check before they report an error if they didn't edit any of the core files.

Afaik, the only time ScriptFodder had all it's shit dumped was when you fucked up. I apologise if I'm incorrect though.
That wouldn't have been possible if someone didn't setup my box with plaintext authing, eh matt? Well done for bringing this up from 3 years ago, it's truely relevant.
Another one of these DRM threads. Didn't Drizzy get banned for ddos on the site iirc?

I didn't attack the website as I don't DDoS. The fact that's plausible just adds on to my previous list of why DRM sucks tho

Please don't make myself die laughing.
do you have any proof of me ever launching an attack?

From DRM to DDoS, aaaaaaaaaaaaah yes

Oh andpeople like Phoenixseem to ban people he just doesn't like from his DRM
Oh, play that card when someone attacks you? Hypocrite.
Watch out what you say to him or he will "dox" you and post on your Facebook and stuff. (That I have proof of drizzy.vip)

I strip every feature I don't use from an addon. Handling 100-120 players requires attention to detail. While I understand the general SF demographic couldn't care less as they struggle to hit 32, it pushes the more serious communities away from otherwise perfectly good content in some cases.
that's why anyone can freeze your server by just spamming 1 con-command

I've witnessed, it's better than ddosing 👍
DRM is an iffy topic. You have people who strongly defend it, yet you also have people who strongly oppose it. (Just like any good discussion honestly!)
You run into the issue of poorly made DRMs, the ones that like to exploit your server, or cause more issues than their worth. These are a poor example of what DRM COULD be.
A good example would be ARitz's ATMs. He had a DRM system set up where code was automatically updated, and he could shut down specific versions of people's addons. Same goes for Freeman. These are good examples since they're very unobtrusive, they manage each situation on a case by case basis, and even had the benefit of automatic updates.
It mainly just depends on how you implement it.

I completely agree with this. I like the idea of a DRM being done where you know it can do something, and you're not worried about what more it can do. In cases like Freemmaann and ARitz, you could see their effect. You can see the addon getting updated, while many of these scripts that use ScriptEnforcer do not seem to have the same effect. They still often require updates via ScriptFodder, making the DRM seem more of a monitoring tool rather than one of protection.
Personally, I have been wanting to make my own DRM for a while, main reason being leakers. Once your script is leaked, you can get it removed (DMCA Request), but people still have the files from it. DRM prevents this by disabling a core functionality of the script. On top of this all, it also ensures that people haven't modified your script, and are having issues rise from their own versions.

I'm not playing that card when someone attacks me. He's straight up lying and can not prove what he's saying.
Regarding you abusing your service. That can be proved. You banned me for a reason which is questionable enough for you to have removed it yourself.

Thanks for the report, it's already fixed in 3.1.0 However, you know yourself that isn't relevant to features being removed from an addon; as the actual issue isn't within an addon at all. You do seem to just like talking shit though.
loving all the friendly and constructive replies, thank god these threads don't end up like the ones on facep-

Edit: Sorry, I just noticed you banned me after looking through the picture again. On another note, this is why you don't want to use scripts with DRM folks.
Which term did I break?
