SecureGMOD exploit and connection issues

Last read Never

Hey everyone, few weeks ago, i already created a post about SecureGMOD changing servernames when connection is refused or blocked. I thought it was a problem of my host having connection issues. The last couple of days, my DarkRP-Server worked flawless until this happened to me today. This is something very strange and i don't know how to handle this serious issue: A french guy (https://steamcommunity.com/id/Eyzox/) joined my DarkRP-Server today and told everyone via OOC-Chat that the server will crash soon. And voila, the server really crashed due to these errors which got spammed in my servers console: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fp95fuu5xckwj7o/log.txt?dl=0

This error of SecureGMOD says that "This copy of the script has been bound to another IP" although i downloaded a new copy for this server and never changed the IP since my DarkRP-Server is running! I am really upset right now!

Thanks in advance and kind regards nerzlakai96

That's pretty funny that the title says securegmod is being exploited because of a security breach, but in your post we just learn it has nothing to do with it.

You gonna learn how to send server logs because again, we can't do anything with what you sent us

Your server got bamboozled by a 12yo kid, literally (yes, that's him)

Agreed! We are both owners of the Fun-Server Comunity (https://steamcommunity.com/groups/fun-server-community) and since this SecureGMOD scripts are online our userbase is upset caused by the crashes which these DRM constantly delivers to us, our users and our server.

It's not crashing because of securegmod, it's crashing because you have backdoors on other scripts you dumbos.

The kid paid someone to get access to a list of server with leaked addons on them.

When you download leaked addons with backdoors in it, they connect to a server that will reference them in a private list, some people are paying to get access to this list and then crash/run shit on these servers.

Being shit with computers is not a reason to blame others for your mistakes.

@Lapin, would you be so kind and stop your insulting language! We neither use leaked scripts nor any backdoors on our server. These are the last logs we could fetch before the server crashed. Will be provide more logs soon!

Follow this link, don't rely on the /logs/ folder in the garrysmod folder, it's full of shit

@Lapin you should know, that disownment like you have done it can lead to a complaint on our site. So please be so kind and stop using these offensive language. We neither steel scripts nor are some childs who just want to mess up with adults

Alright, listen to me Lapin. I am a kind person who already spent almost $600 on this site, so why do you think that i need to use leaked scripts? I am a Content Creator as well and since the time we use YOUR script "🏠gHomes | All-in-one property solution [Buy/rent from NPC or from 3D2D Panel]" using SecureGMOD on our server we ran into these issues mentioned above! So it would be nice if we could stop offending ourselves and try to find a solution for that problem.

@Lapin

I do not really understand why you treat us like a bunch of idiots, but I know that i've never stole anything and I will never do so. We are on a system with multiple customers and do not have the freedom of ours to edit the commandline as we want. You're mentioned setting is always active on our host. Let's look over it

As I said we are professionals and not dumb kids you can treat like idiots.

Edited Dev of SecureGMOD with shiny VAC Bans SecureGMOD Dev

  1. You might want to hide your authkey next time
  2. You might also want to stop using a rcon password, it full of exploits
  3. You might also stop trying to act like you're offended just to get a mod to do something about it, I only said you were shit with computers and you guys are exactly proving my point by pretending securegmod is causing the kind of problems you're talking about
  4. You're also pretending gmodsecure is being exploited by a 12 years old kid.
  5. You're also pretending to be offended by "you're shit with computer", but slandering a service is totally fine, amirite ?
  6. You might also want to stop rating eachothers "agree" because it doesn't give you much more credibility since you're two guys from the same server.

Edit : lol, you're claiming to be professional but on the next line you're personally attacking Meepen

don't bully Meepen he's a cool kid

That's really not nice of you

I bet one of the multiple workshop addons that he has on his server has a backdoor. Or someone guessed his rcon (why even set a rcon?)

Why does someone having a VAC ban mean anything?

Are you serious? Using NO rcon password leads to exploits and we added the rcon password into the commandline instead server.cfg which lead to exploits in the past!

Please stop hosting servers... Having NO RCON means that no one at all can gain remote access which means the server is more protected than having the RCON.

Unless you actually know what you are talking about then please stop posting random nonsense making yourself look bad.

Pretty sure they're doing like on gmodstore, banning from using a script/game before you buy it so you don't bother them with tickets ;)

We set our rcon via our commandline which shouldn't be exploitible. Our RCON Password should look something like this: ),jb!bx}Tg(p5%vTL>k.6y3#r@G?N<Ju Seems to be very easy to guess or?

I don't need to bully anyone and I don't do so just showcase his steam profile. So everyone can make himself his own opinion about him.

I want to become a network administrator and I don't think they would accept someone who can't even handle a single server.

Please understand that most of our serverside scripts are also used by other servers and our sandbox server as well and they don't seem to crash. Our DarkRP with more then one SecureGMOD script is crashing and try's to tell us that we need a new copy for our server, but it worked previously.

Why do you argue he found the exploit? As you mentioned above he paid for a serverlist with exploitable scripts. So someone else could have found the exploit and why should someone use a workshop script to change a value in SecureGMOD?

Before we continue insulting ourselves and making this thread bigger and bigger without finding any useful solution, i suggest closing this thread please! I will contact Meepen about this problem as he is obviously the developer of SecureGMOD. I see on his steam profile comments that some other users are complaining about SecureGMOD problems too.

You don't get it, the rcon password complexity doesn't matter, it's having a rcon password or not that matters

Edit : "my server get hacked by a 12yo kid, but i'm right and i don't want to listen to a guy who's making money by programming shit on the same game"
