Uploading To The Workshop (With Capital Letters)

Last read Never

I have been uploading all my content to the workshop file using "Gmod Publishing Utility"

But many of my resources contain capital letters and are read that way.

But the problem is... GMPU will not allow you to upload something to the workshop that contains capital letters.

My question is, does anyone know of a way to upload to the workshop when your resources contain capital letters?

Example: Lua script contains a model called Crazy_Model.mdl

This cannot be uploaded as it contains a capital letter.

How can I get around this?

how about you don't use capital letters and rename your resources

I can't control what script creators call their models you see kanalumaddela, but I need to upload them to my content pack somehow!

tell the script creator to not be dumb and rename their models for workshop compatibility

Well, let's say that is not an option, is it possible in any way to upload to the workshop with capital letters?

EDIT: Why is this marked as dumb by someone? Most script creators will not offer that kind of support as it doesn't affect the scripts functionality, so I simply can't ask every script creator to do this.

If scripters or people creating these resources are using capitals they need there heads banged together, naming files with capitals is one of the worst practices you can do.

You really need to rename these to lower cases and fix the issues.

You need to think of how systems like Linux work etc, not everything revolves around Windows.

Indeed. Encountered this issue with Linux users and capital letters long time ago. There's literally no reason to use them in your file and folder names. You should try to simply rename it and change capitall letters to lowercase ones.

Tried that, it doesn't read the model once in game as it's case sensitive.

You need to change the vtfs iirc
