Website Designer/Developer For hire!
Anyway... This is Garry's Mod websites for servers we are talking about not companies. I have created a sample kinda site with a forums which took me minutes. I am doing this to help take the strain off running a server and just set up the website and if there are changes need then i'm a message away. http://serverhost.thewebsmith.co.uk/forum/ (Ignore the subdomain)
Stick with Wordpress. Installing MyBB themes isn't really worth anything more than $1

And use bbpress? What is did is make a main site with wordpress as a kind of doorway then installed a mybb sub dir to make the forums easy to manage?

I admit professional forums are'n that easy, only use BBpress as the last alternative, search for other Forums plugins
What of loading screens?

Looks quite professional, I wish you great success. The websites aren't exactly bad, but they didn't amaze me either but I guess that will change over time :)Good luck :)
Same man, just a little tip for you, make your website look a little more original. It just looks like on of the default WordPress themes..

The reason that is because kinda teamed up with Athemes so i'm using them to show the different templates i can use. But thanks currently working on a unique design :)
You've shown us you can set up a MyBB forum, show us your web design skills.

That's a free theme you used there, requires no effort whatsoever. This is a joke.
Your other sites aren't bad. Could be better, but good luck!
Okay so i have been working on a new design with my own website. Not too sure if i like it though aha!
Yes they are free themes but they do require effort. I like to stress that this is for GARRY'S MOD SERVERS not real businesses. My other sites are not bad because they are real businesses. You make it out that i'm going to charge hundreds or even thousands of pounds/dollars for them. As i am new to starting and only "young" my skills are not going to blow you away. People have to start somewhere. Every other site i have done has been freelance work so i am making nothing off these. Depending on what people want i will either charge them or not. I've not just shown how to set up a MyBB forum that's just something else i can add or just use them and not going to charge to set it up.
So what I'm getting from this is that you think just because "it's Garry's Mod" that you don't need to put your best work out there - because they're not "real businesses". How disappointing.
If that's the attitude you're going to have then it'll definitely show up in your work, seeing as you won't put the effort in because they aren't "real businesses". Regardless you can set up stuff/use themes, and use styling at best from what I've seen.

Jesus why are you so butt hurt? Why can't you see if depends on what the client wants? If he was an really sexy looking website i'd do that for them. I'm trying to expand my skills here. If someone wants something for free they will have a basic free theme with mybb installed? People with Garry's mod servers don't need a really complex website as the selling point is the actual game experience. On the website the basic things you need is a landing page, forums, donation store and maybe some information pages. If you actually read i'm pretty new to this and i'm sure if you've ever made a website that at the start it wasn't the best. It's experience that will make you better. It's all about baby steps.

Sorry to kinda jump in here but Nook is right. If you are just starting out then ANY work you do should be your best work. I know where you are coming from as I used to have that mindset... if I'm not making big bucks why would I spend a lot of time on something or put my full effort into it? But you said it right... It's the experience that will make you better so if you see a job that may not be the best paying put ALL your effort into it or at least more than you would now. It will at least get your experience up so you can take bigger projects in the future! Now I'm no wizard with coding as many people know but each job I take challenges me so I can grow better and get my knowledge up.

I'm sorry but all I hear are excuses, and if you think I'm "butt hurt" then you clearly have never heard or accepted criticism before. It comes with the territory of being human because as you put it, none of us are perfect.
I won't lie, I'm certain my starting websites weren't the best - but I put my best effort into them. When I did jobs for people starting off I put my best effort, and went above and beyond, even if they weren't a "real business". My issue is not with your code however, but mainly with your attitude. You act as if they don't deserve the best you can put out, just because it's Garry's Mod related.
And actually I do have a problem with you calling yourself a web developer/designer if you can't actually do anything more than setup some basic themes/packages.
Gmodstore isn't a place to "learn" We are dealing with real money and people here.
If this was to be treated as a real business, a full website price on gmodstore is actually 1-2 hours work. I get where both of you come from, but I would say web development on here is quite different to 'real-world web development.

What? You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. Web development is web development, it doesn't just magically become easier because it's not in your eyes "real world".

I get where you come from. I was referring to the pricing as there is a massive difference. People charge anywhere from ยฃ100-200 for a complete site on here. My point was, in the "real-world" that cost is literally 2 hours work. I never once said it becomes easier?

I've made full websites for both people on upwork and gmodstore, they're very similar, although the process is very different in terms of sending the product and getting paid. Only difference I see is people putting their effort in differently which shouldn't be the case cause technically, even though this is a place for gmod it's still a professional place to handle products, community being shitty or not.
If kids on roblox can make over $200k on a game for literal children, we can make our average selling prices for websites here for teenagers to adults (and some kids).

You're implying very heavily that it is because it's Garry's Mod related. Also a "complete site" can mean literally anything, as I can charge upwards of $1,000+ for a complete site, but that's something that involves custom forums, features, donations, etc. all designed from scratch, maybe using a CSS framework for layout and other basic things.
Also you're paying for knowledge, effort, time, and skill. Not just "time". The sooner you guys get that through your head, the better off you'll be.
