Amazon Alexa + GMOD

Yeah, already am using some applets from it.

A bit useless for now, can't even play music off of phone, make calls etc.

Haven't tried writing anything for it yet.

Well google assistant directly support it, no need to have IFTTT.

On paper, yes. Calls are US only and anything regarding music launching is bugged currently. Should have gotten echo Dot.

Alexa's API is pretty shitty. Amazon make you use their AWS services. Specifically, the AWS Lambda service which lets you run small "snippets" of code, but you have to pay a certain amount every single time the function is ran. So if you were to do this, you'd have to pay for it all. Plus, it's so much fucking effort to get into it and use all of Amazon's proprietary bullshit.

I'd be willing to work (contribute) on this actually.

I have a Google Home.

Iลก this possible with Google home? Just got it instead of echo, so disappointed.. This sounds awesome, however, would definitely be a redeeming factor.

Of course it would be possible with google home however it will still need someone to develop it of course.

Gotta be honest. I know we're nerds n'all and we do shit like this cus we can, but I really see this just not being worth the hassle. The payout is not at all worth it...

I guess it is something that is totally not necessary but how about if this was transferred into an echo show skill ? http://prntscr.com/hv67js Visualizing data from your server, maybe donation values, server resource usage , listing complaints from users? This sort of stuff could be interesting and useful for large scale server owners. It doesn't really have to be just the basic server information.

Idea is quite nice.

However your sales are only limited to amazon echo users, and the price of an amazon echo show is not cheap either. So it's something to think about.

Of course, this project is a bit of fun in my opinion. I mean it can also be made into a GMODStore alexa app too for developers to ask what their current sales figure are like, how many support tickets they have unanswered etc...

Edited I have got a rough skill that tells me a little bit about my test server. http://prntscr.com/hv7daz
