ScriptFodder = gmodstore explained
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/gmodstore
Here's the new steam group if anyone wants to join
I love the design, however I think I will miss ScriptFodder :'(
ScriptFodder is dead, good riddance. It ruined Garry's Mod servers!
"meh" I liked ScriptFodder better.
Hello! So I am a player model builder, and I have attempted to upload my player models on here for servers. However, with Script Fodder I was never able to do that, the people that checked my mods have never allowed me to upload them. But now with the new brand Gmodstore, is it more generalized now? Can I upload my player models for servers?
No. You realize models are downloaded to the client the second they join a server. Why would you even try?
I personally prefer Gmodstore, i mean, Scriptfodder was known as gmodstore in the first place. Also now the name itself states that this place is garry's mod related, so wiseguys can't come here without a clue about what is this place. ( There was a guy recently thinking SF was ARK related. )

Aren't scripts the same as well? And I find it hard to believe that someone would take the time to find the actual files and put it together to use it outside of a server. I was mostly asking the staff anyways. :)
I would like somewhere I can openly sell my hard work.

Models are client-side, as are maps. Scripts are client/server. And you can find it hard to believe, but people do it all the time. You're underestimating a community that has a player-base made up of children (no offense) and young adults. There have been many times before that even people will buy a script from gmodstore, download it, and then re-submit it straight back to gmodstore for approval, claiming it as their own without zero modification or even the attempt to hide it.
Take the "HogwartsRP" gamemode. One server took the time to hire a modeler to make custom models for the gamemode that were based off of Harry Potter. All of a sudden 10+ servers came up using the exact same models that one network had made custom. As soon as you connect, you have the items. Just have to find them either through where they are stored in FastDL on your local system, or the .gma and then just extract it. Boom, you now own them all.
Rule: Never find ANYTHING within this community "hard to believe". If you can think of it; it has happened.
This is a reason why gmodstore/sf doesn't allow for maps either -- just scripts. So if you're looking to sell your hard work, then you may want to try either creating your own little website / shop, or go ask the guys at ModMountain.

Scripts are not the same so please don't talk about what you don't understand. Clientside code is sent to the client but serverside code is not.
You don't really seem to understand at all how things work. These files are sent to the client so they can see the model, which means that they only need to drag the few files that they received upon joining.
Regardless of who you are "asking", you're going to get the same answer. By the way I am staff, so there's your answer. I'll not accept a model. :)
You're not gonna be able to sell models. Focus on learning Lua.
Interesting. Thank you for the notice.

Create a "hire-me" thread.

ScriptFodder was way better, the blue colour scheme looks a little odd (Understood GMod themed, but strange.)
MY AMAZING EDIT!
Mayb scriptfodder will become more of a brand with sub companies such as GModStore and maybe in the future [Some other store lua thing for other games, idc but i like SF name.)
Why do you all keep buying gmodstore domains...
-snip- fixed itself.. kms
Nice :)
