Best forum software?

#21

Ill pay 25 for a super simple forum, with steam integration, an admin panel, somewhat similar to XenForo and I expect it to be done in 3 days and I want all rights to resell it.

I use IPS (invision community)

many top communities use it... I feel it’s worth the price 100%. Never had any problems with it.

That does look pretty cool. Never really seen anyone using it though.

Woltlab Burning Board is a nice Forum software, but it costs a Bit.

But it also exists a pretty Forum software called "Aura" https://www.get-aura.org

If you have a higher budget: IPV or Xenforo.

These two should be able to do the job. They are stable and pretty well optimized. Regular big updates. Next to that the community offers a large amount of well done add-ons. Most are ofcourse paid but I rather pay than not having an option to get the add-on other than a custom made one (expensive).

Next to that the communities are active.

If you are capable of editing forums then maybe MyBB is an option. It is free but needs alot of things redone. It does offer a great foundation to edit yourself to something complete.

Xenforo?

Personally for me it would have to be MyBB due to personal preference and second to that would be Invision but like others have said its expensive I used to use invision but the cost Vs needs didn't seem viable for myself.

In general it all comes down to personal preference and what works for yourself.

I am not sure but i think Discourse using Ruby

#35

I was half wrong. It doesn't use Node but their front-end is entirely JavaScript using ember.js, the backend uses Ruby on rails, yes
