The road ahead
I would like to start off by thanking Matt for his leadership the past couple of years.
As of January 31st, the operations of GmodStore will no longer be ran by GmodStore Ltd. GmodStore will be transferred to Everyday AS. This change will not affect anything other than the fact that Norwegians will have to pay a purchase tax when they buy an item from the store starting on the 31st. This is because Everyday AS is a Norway based company.
Due to the time that management and the business behind all of this has taken, and will take, some features of 4.6 will have to be delayed.
Operations will continue as normal. There may be slight downtime while we migrate some services to new servers/registrars. Everything will remain the same, with the exception of Matt having retired from being in charge of GmodStore, and I will assume the seat of operations manager.
✌️
Matt, all of us appreciate the work you've put into this project, especially in the beginning. Many were at a loss and panic when CoderHire closed, as was I. If it wasn't for ScriptFodder/GMS I would be in a lot worse place than where I am now, I could forget about having any sort of degree, my own place or being out of debt.
You were one of the people that have allowed us sellers to have the oppurtunity of earning money from our work. I thank you for supporting this project for so long.
You have saved my behind personally. That time when you've went out of your way to help me with my accounting issues, for example, I still appreciate that.
I understand this decision was not an easy one to make. Wish you the best of luck.
As for Marcuz, I really do have trust in his abilities and motivation. A bit overly anti-DRM for my liking, but he's a trustworthy successor.
ScriptFodder/Gms changed my life and paved my future, thank you for putting up with 14 year old Billy because otherwise my life and career would never be the same. Hopefully Everyday ASS can continue the legacy :)
bye 👋
Bye, hope everything goes well.
Scripfodder and gmodstore have always been useful for me, it allowed me to steal money from 12 year olds by getting them to buy vip on my server, it also allowed me to sell other 12 year olds addons for their server, Im sure none of this would have been easy without Matt. Good luck :)
Take care Matt and Marcus good luck! I have high hopes and am happy to see you in this position. I'm confident you will do great things.
Can't trust it's actually true and Matt left. Thanks for everything, especially for your DRM's point of view man.
I wish you the best, I don't think what happened in content creators's lives would be the same if you were not here.
I also wish the best for Marcuz, he is a really cool guy so I don't have any doubt about how gmodstore will be managed with Everyday AS. Thanks for everything!
Im really sad to hear this, it feels like more and more staff/devs are leaving, some for the competition and some due their own reasons, Oh well. Thanks Matt for providing us with this wonderful addons site that turned into it's own community.
I just hope Gmodstore will be okay like it was.
Since day one back at CoderHire.
Thank you ✌️
This is because Everyday AS is a Norway based company.
Does it mean that russians finally can exclude VAT from their payments?
Russians never had to pay VAT on GmodStore.
Wish you the best matt.
Sorry i'm late, only just seen this. I wish you the best Matt, thanks for giving everyone a great platform. Good luck in the future!
Wish you the best!
The Matt folder will hopefully continue to grow strong as you aren't leaving the discord, good luck with your future endeavors!
