Addon Test Approval Idea

So Id like to start with saying everyone should come into this with an open mind cause this could either be a cancerous idea or a great one. This is just an idea and maybe we can all come up with an even bigger idea.

What Is The Idea

The Idea is to help people who want to get better at coding and selling at the same time. Have maybe a discord or another site that takes uploaded addons and has verified Content Creators take a quick look and simply give them a review on how they did and what they could do to make it stronger addon. Nothing but 2-6 sentences would be needed, just a quick brief criticism.

How Would This Work?

So someone that wants to get better at coding and selling comes onto the discord or website and uploads the addon with a quick video of the addon and the files. Verified creators who want to donate their time into helping the coding and selling community will review the video and files and ask questions if needed. Then the people who reviewed it will give a quick comment on the Pro's and Con's or just a brief comment on what's wrong and what could be done better.

Who Would This Help?

This would help not only the person wanting to get better but, it will help creators with not only troubleshooting but on just making there addons better by making others better. It would also help GmodStore by having more Content Creators. Thus not only gaining popularity, but having more creative minds making creative addons along with sales going up. Another person it could help would be, the Garry's Mod community with more addons.

Why Don't You Just Use Steam Workshop

I see where you are coming from, but that doesn't give the creators enough criticism. Not a lot of people comment on how they can make it better and how there structure of the code it. The workshop would be the original idea of this whole ordeal but, unfortunately, that's not the case.

This is already handled by us submission curators and the moderators in normal script reviewing, I don't really see a point.

-snip reply didnt work-

Are you allowed to keep trying to update it and submitting it? Iv always thought it would be a ban for spamming, or some type of cool down. The idea was to have the website to be a testing ground.

Once you submit a script for approval, the script will have a ticket to communicate with moderators and curators. If the script is decent quality, you will get a proper reply with issues that has to be addressed. This means you can update and upload new versions during the approval process.

Just be aware that you must be up to standards on everything before submitting. This means the first thing that is curated is media, general idea and description. Then we take a look at features, if it's unique, if it fits the site and at the end if the code is up to standards.

(that's roughly how it works)

Ah okay, thank you for clearing that up man.

i think the terms for your idea is called "peer review"

Exactly but, there needs to be an active platform for all the peers who want to try to get better at coding. Maybe it will turn into a career for the person.
