Best forum software?

Does anyone have good recommendations on a forum software to use? That won’t break the bank either?

personally I like Xenforo, I feel it's worth the price.

but before that I've easily used SMF2 with ease, not the best coded thing in the world but definietely functional.

there's new types of boards that run on nodejs, but they don't have a traditional forum feel, so it's kinda shitty.

Free with custom theme and plugin support with active devs/community seems pretty nice imo... It treated me well

MyBB is perfectly fine for it being free software that is open to a lot of customisation..

I kinda like Discourse even though it's Node.js

I feel like myBB has the most support out there. There are also a lot of good free and paid themes and addons.
