You do realize that most of your work in your portfolio is made with picture from Google right? $2,- is cheap, but you might be using something copyrighted if you're not carefull enough.

No, not most of it. I'm using assets and as I said I carefully look them up.

I could be jealous, lucky you, you can create logos and stuff, by designing them yourself, but I simply can't draw, that's why I have to use assets. As I said, I make sure, that people are allowed to use them. That's also why I'm doing such a cheap work...

You dont have to be able to draw to make good logos. You could say its considered a good practise to very briefly sketch out a few ideas on how the logo should look but you dont need to be a picasso, so to speak. And like nvs said, using assets from the internet has the possibility of getting you into trouble, cheap price or not.

Graphics "design" usually means you can create your own design and do whatever with it. I don't really think people are "GFX artists" cause they can add a drop shadow to a circle they made in photoshop.

Still, most of the stuff is self made, that's all I can offer, I tend to use assets, I really tried to create my own stuff a few times, but most of the time I'm unsatisfied with the results. And it's not only "Adding a drop shadow to a circle" it's a little bit more afford, I spend like 30 minutes per Design, 2$ for 30 minutes work aren't that bad... And Still, I never said I'm an expert, I just try to make a nice offer with my current skill level, I'm pretty sure I'll become better, but every costumer is happy with what I provided them, so I thought, I can make some more people happy. Until now I did everything for free, just to make people happy...

I agree with the first part. I'll practice more, you're right

But about the second part: I check every asset I'm using. I check every license and that's why I can't get in trouble for it. I'm not just searching stuff on Google Images thinking "I'm allowed to use it, because it's on google Images". Most of the assets are from sites, providing assets for graphics designers.

Where do you get your "assets" from?

edit: I mean, you don't grab them from Google, so you must have some source.

I like taking icons from "http://www.freepik.com/" but it requires the User to credit the site/author. But I inform every customer about it. That's one for example

I wouldn't want to credit some random site, I'd rather want to credit the guy who actually made it. ( you ), you should try and make your own, like people said it's really not that hard. Some of these looks really simple as well, like I'm shit at graphics design even though I make models/3D sculpts, but that pet one doesn't look like a professional/graphics person made it.

But some of them look nice, good luck, hopefully all goes well.

Hi! I wanted to first start with my opinion, you should probably do free work before trying to get paid for it. It's what I did when I first started out on SF. I don't believe your graphics are in a tier where they can be pruchased. Use this thread. [for example] I made quite some time ago, I was already doing designs for a good bit of time but I knew to get more experience / rep I really needed to make sure I got situated with the community to start actually charging.

Second, I think you need to overall look at users like galtrox for instance, who is arguably the best designer to be associated with SF. Look at how he makes his logos and banners etc. Your style is very dated and a little lack luster in a lot of areas. But I think you have potential as you have a hunger to get paid for this hobby. Designing is a shark tank.

But like luna said quite a few threads ago, SF is a kiddie pool, you can't charge a lot of money for simple things here on SF.

TL;DR Get more experience and improve your style before trying to make cash, even if it is a little bit, $2 is not worth the work as you'd basically be getting a little over a dollar after PP charges. Be open to getting as much experience as you can. And as always, good luck.

So to explain things: I'm doing my stuff since 2 years, and from now on, I did all my work for free, providing maximum customer comfort. I don't want people to credit me, I take myself some time for my customers and my work to make sure they are happy.

I already did some paid jobs, and most of the time, I got paid around $5. Never had any complains, now I'm just wondering why everyone complains about $2...

But yeah... I guess Virtus is right, I'll trust you... Pulling back my offer, close this thread please...

Edit:

Just realized "I'm doing my stuff since 2 years [...] for free" and "I already did some paid jobs" doesn't makes sense. About the paid jobs: Most of the time people asked me if I could do something for them. About the Free jobs: Mostly I go to someone offering them free designs...
