No rep for additional authours

Last read Never

Hello. After doing a few script collabs, I've noticed that as an additional authour, I dont recieve any rep but the main authour does. Is this a bug or is this how it's meant to be? If this is normal, could this maybe be changed so that any additional authours are also repped from the scripts they do/collab? Thanks.

Same for the "Author" little green box which is not there when an additional author does a comment on the script he participates while the main author has one.

Good point, so having something like this would help a lot enter image description here

Additional authors can be a way to abuse rep if we add rep to all additional authors too.

Hmm I understand. So how about having a system like this:

2 people worked on a script. 1 main authour and 1 additional.

For the main authour, 1 review = 1 rep For the additional authour 1 review = 1/2 rep (which isnt shown on the total rep, just stored in memory)

So for the additional authour to get a full rep, the script requires 2 reviews for the additional authour to recieve a full rep whereas the main authour recieves the total of the 2 reviews.

This increases for the more authours that are added to the script, that way it balances it out and removes the element of farming for rep. Would this idea work or is this just silly?

It could be abused, but I still feel that it should give them rep. Maybe add an option to allow a moderator to turn off the ability to get rep as an additional author if they suspect it is being abused. (May be stupid idea but was the first thing I thought of.)

i feel like that's just a waste of time.

i think marcuz is thinking if we add an additional author, they'll automatically receive all rep from the current reviews. it'd be better if rep would be added on additional authors based on when they were added as an additional author.

I don't think you guys understand the complicated logic behind calculating the rep, doing that is not very easy. Might be from gmodstore on though, currently we're doing it through mysql procedures which is a pain in the arse to write.

i mean, when someone posts a review, whoever is currently an additional author would receive the rep. what else would there be to update?

the current system is made to calculate the full sum always, this is because we didn't have reputation from the beginning. It doesn't +1 or -1 to a set sum like you'd think it would. Doing +1 and -1 always would also be a pain if scripts ever need to be transferred from one account to another as well
