GLua Self Tutorials
Hello ScriptFodder community,
I am rapidly becoming interested in learning to be fluent in GLua. I'm quite tired of only knowing GLua on a very limited basis and having to hire people to do more advanced programming for me. I've read almost everything within these websites; G-Wiki GLua Docs Others
So I understand quite a bit of all the basics, now I am practicing putting it all together! Any suggestions for an online interpreter? I've been trying to use this, but it's not dedicated to GLua.
If you guys have any more good sources to learn GLua or some challenges I can walk through I'd appreciate it!
Thanks,
Jasper
Reverse engineer scripts to work how you want them to work.
I did that with html, css, js, etc.. and am currently doing it to php as we speak, it works better than teachers or books (imo though, I hate doing set stuff that I don't want to do).
Why do you want to use an online interpreter? Just download the interpreter from lua.org. You might have to compile/build some stuff, but the instructions are pretty straight forward.
For GLua, you're going to have to open up Garry's Mod, or at least a Garry's Mod server. There's no standalone interpreter as far as I'm aware (and I'm not sure how that would even work).

Downloading the interpreter from lua.org, could you explain a little more, please? Also, I do have my own server host where I can test out scripts. Thanks for any help.

people who care about performance
web languages are called web languages for a reason. they are not made for desktop applications. they cannot compete in terms of speed.

The fuck you talking about, it preforms as sublime/better than sublime text does. Unless you try it your self you can't judge it.
Adding shit tons of addons to it will cause any app to run slow.

You should really educate yourself....

Theres also some youtube tutorials that might help you..
I've watched a few like Goature Erigitic Codeblue tutorials and more.
I've tried doing this
local test = 0 local test2 = 3 local total = test + test2 local playersmoney = { ["Alex"] = 100, ["Daniel"] = 200, }
print("Value "..total) for k,v in pairs(playersmoney) do print(v) end
(Just messing around for fun to test lua) How would i make it print the name in this case Alex & Daniel before the money aswell? Not quite sure how that works.
Oh just noticed, k is the names... mehh. Always been told to never use the k as you wont need it lol 3:
